Chapter 127 I Have Nothing to Say to You

Mary clenched her fists, her eyes darting over the drinks on the table.

She walked up to Matthew, took a deep breath, and said, "Matthew, you're doing this for Laura. But Shirley's here because of me. Let's make a deal. I'll drink all these bottles, and you leave Shirley alone, okay?"

Matthew's cold eyes stared at her in silence.

Mary smiled, grabbed a bottle, opened it, and started drinking.

The sharp taste burned her throat, making her cough violently, tears welling up in her eyes. She paused for a moment, then kept drinking.

Matthew didn't stop her but watched with a complex expression.

"Mary!" Shirley's eyes widened, struggling to get to her, but Sam held her back.

"Let me go!" Shirley's voice quivered with tears. She glared at Matthew but didn't dare insult him again.

Mary was doing this for her. If she offended Matthew now, all of Mary's efforts would be wasted.

Herman, watching, lost his lazy smile and looked at Matthew, "Wait, are you serious?"

Matthew's lips tightened into a straight line as he watched Mary finish one bottle and open another.

Feeling irritated, he muttered, "That's enough!"

Mary abruptly put down the bottle, closed her eyes, and asked with difficulty, "Do we have a deal?"

Suddenly standing up, Matthew reached across the table, grabbed her chin, and forced her to look at him, "Mary, besides all this, don't you have anything else to say?"

The alcohol quickly took effect. A flush spread across Mary's face. She stared at Matthew in a daze, then silently laughed, "No, I have nothing to say to you."

It was as if all sounds had disappeared, leaving only the loud thumping of the heart. It seemed like cracks were appearing in Matthew's heart, accompanied by sharp pain, tearing at his senses.

Matthew's gaze suddenly turned sinister. He stared at her, released her chin, and sneered, "If she dares to play with the fire, she should have the self-awareness to bear the consequences."

Mary tightened her grip on the bottle, "What do you mean?"

Was he not planning to let Shirley go?

Matthew then turned to Herman, "You need a model, don't you? What do you think of her?"

Taken aback, Herman instinctively looked at Shirley and said, "Not bad. Excellent appearance."

Matthew said, "Sign her up as a model, the lowest tier."

"Matthew!" Mary screamed, infuriated. " What are you doing? What does our mess have to do with Shirley?"

Matthew coldly looked at her, "Does she have the right to judge me?"

Mary felt like she had fallen into an icy abyss, a chill spreading throughout her body. Even after drinking two bottles of wine, she couldn't feel any warmth.

Shirley gritted her teeth and said, "Mary, enough. He's such an ungrateful one! I'll be fine!"

Matthew turned to Sam, "Release her chin."

"Yes." Sam immediately lifted Shirley's chin, but she suddenly bit down hard on his hand with great force.

Sam sucked in a breath of cold air and quickly let go of her.

Shirley immediately ran to Mary's side, tightly holding her hand. She glared at Matthew with anger, "Mary will never forgive you for treating her like this!"
