Chapter 89 How Did You Fall Out of Favor?

Sensing Matthew's icy coldness, Sam's eyes showed a hint of hesitation and struggle, but he remained silent.

Matthew coldly stared at him, "You won't tell, is that it? Then fuck off, and never show up in front of me again."

"Mr. Montagu!" Upon hearing this, Sam panicked.

Sam owed Matthew his life, so he swore to follow Matthew for life!

Gritting his teeth, Sam said, "I found out that a man was following Ms. Smith that night. She ran out and was dragged into a small grove by the man, and it was Robert who appeared and saved her."

As the words fell, Matthew's fist landed directly on Sam's face.

Sam fell to the floor from the blow, enduring the pain, and quickly knelt.

Grabbing his collar, Matthew was outranged. "How dare you!"

It was true that Mary had indeed experienced those things!

But what had he done?

After she narrowly escaped death, he had actually said those harsh words!

He even misunderstood her and Robert!

An endless rage ignited within Matthew's chest. His aura grew even colder, and his eyes tipped with a crimson hue as memories of the past year with her flashed in his mind.

The more he thought, the more an indescribable emotion and sharp pain intensified within him!

Cold sweat beaded Sam's forehead. "Mr. Montagu, I just hope that you and Ms. Griffin are well."

"Since when has my life been your concern?" Matthew said darkly, his chilling aura surging!

He released Sam, straightened up, and coldly stated, "Sam, since you have your ideas, don't follow me from now on."

With that, he strode away from Sam.

"Mr. Montagu!" Sam's pupils contracted as he watched Matthew's retreating figure.

But Matthew paid him no mind at all.

Sam was left in a daze.

What had he done wrong?

Mr. Montagu cared deeply for Ms. Griffin, didn't he?

Mary's appearance was just an accident. As long as he got rid of her, everything would be fine. Why was Mr. Montagu so angry?

Sam couldn't leave Matthew's side, but now, with Matthew in a rage, he had no idea what to do.

Taking out his phone, he made a call, "Mr. Adams, could you help me?"

The other end of the line laughed teasingly, "Oh, judging by your voice, have you fallen out of favor? That's truly delightful. Normally, by Matthew's side, you always appeared so capable, looking down on everyone. Now that you've fallen out of favor, are you facing backlash?"

"Mr. Adams, I'm not joking," Sam said.

Herman Adams continued to laugh freely, "Me either, but why have you fallen out of favor? Tell me the reason. You just made my day."

Sam wanted to hang up.

He took a deep breath, exhaled, and then explained the situation.

Herman fell silent.

After a moment, he said, "Sam, you're a fool. It's a miracle you've been able to stay by Matthew's side for so many years!"

Sam furrowed his brow, "What do you mean?"

Herman replied, "In this matter, what a fool you are! It is a matter of life and death, and you kept it from Matthew? Leaving aside the situation between Laura and Matthew, just considering the favor Mary did by bringing the amnesiac Matthew back home, you should not have acted that way!"
