Chapter 92 Is This Person Out of his Mind?

Mary woke up feeling a weight on her body. Startled, she quickly turned her head to look. When she saw that it was Shirley's leg pressing on her, she breathed a sigh of relief.

She had thought it was Matthew.

She shook her head. Why was she thinking about that douchebag?

Mary moved Shirley's leg aside and got up to freshen up. She quickly prepared breakfast and then woke Shirley up.

Shirley, still groggy, sat up and stared at Mary for a moment before suddenly asking, "Do you know what happened last night?"

Mary was taken aback, "What?"

Yawning, Shirley got out of bed and recounted the events of the previous night.

"Sam Wilson?" After listening, Mary paused for a moment.

She didn't know this person.

Shirley said, "Maybe he really is just a helpful person. If we meet him next time, we should thank him."

"Yes, you're right." Mary nodded.

The two of them had breakfast and headed out together.

To their surprise, they encountered Sam at the entrance of the residential complex.

"Mr. Wilson?" Shirley spotted Sam and called out to him.

Sam looked over, but his gaze was fixed on Mary's face.

Shirley immediately smiled, "Mary, he's here!"

Mary playfully nudged her and then walked up to Sam, saying, "I heard about what happened last night. Thank you."

Sam replied, "That's all right. It was the right thing I should do."

Mary smiled, "There's no such thing as 'should' or 'shouldn't.' Even if you hadn't helped, it would have been understandable. So, I still want to thank you."

Sam repeated, "It was what I should do."

Mary smiled awkwardly, "Well... thank you. Let me treat you to a meal. Do you have time for lunch today?"

"No need." Sam rejected her offer outright, staring at her and saying, "I made a mistake before. I'm sorry. Please forgive me!"

With that, he bowed to Mary.

Startled, Mary took a step back and hid behind Shirley.

Shirley was puzzled, "Do you know Mary?"

"Yes," Sam nodded.

Mary and Shirley exchanged a glance.

Mary said, "But I don't know you."

"I'm Sam Wilson," Sam replied.

Mary fell silent.

She pondered, 'What was going on? Did I run into a nutcase? I had to leave quickly.'

"Well... I have to go to work, so I'll be leaving. Goodbye!" Mary said.

Mary had been cautious with strangers due to her previous encounters with the mysterious man who had followed and harmed her. Seeing that Sam was acting strangely, she couldn't engage with him further and pulled Shirley away.

As Sam watched their retreating figures, he furrowed his brow in confusion.

Was his apology not sincere enough?

At the DK Group, as soon as Mary entered, the phone on her desk started ringing. She answered, "Hello."

"Mrs. Montagu, please come to the CEO's office," Michael's voice came through.

"No, I'm busy," Mary replied before hanging up.

Michael stood by his desk, holding the phone, and cast a cautious glance at Matthew.

The call was on speaker, and Matthew could hear Mary's emotionless response clearly.

A vein pulsed on his forehead, and Matthew suddenly stood up and walked out.

Michael followed him, thinking to himself, 'How fearless Mrs. Montagu is! Even with her check frozen, she still spoke to Mr. Montagu like that.'
