Chapter 618 Leaving Silently
She suddenly thought of resigning and left quietly.
No one would be able to find her.
That way, she wouldn't drag anyone else down with her.
Mary pursed her lips, thinking this plan was feasible.
She had no family, and her only friends were Shirley, Sean, and Robert.
Matthew couldn't hurt Robert; the only one he could leverage was Shirley.
So, she would find a way to leave with Shirley.
What about Sean?
Once she left, Matthew would have no reason to trouble him.
This was indeed a good plan.
Mary took out her phone, hesitating whether to tell Shirley about this.
No rush, wait a bit longer. If things really didn't turn around, she would consider leaving.
All afternoon, Mary was preoccupied, and she wasn't in a good state.
After work, she returned to Maple Grove Manor. Just as she entered the elevator, two people followed her in.
Mary instinctively looked up, and when she saw who it was, her expression froze.
Matthew and Jessica.
He actually brought Jessica home?
Jessica gave her a smug look and directly took Matthew's arm, looking very intimate.
Mary frowned slightly, feeling inexplicably disgusted.
Fortunately, no one else got on the elevator. They got off first, followed by Mary.
She opened the door and saw Shirley sitting on the couch watching TV.
"Shirley, I have something to discuss with you." Mary changed her shoes and walked over to her.
Shirley turned to Mary and confused, "What is it?"
Mary leaned in and said, "Let's leave together."
Shirley gave her a surprised look, "Are you serious?"
"Yes." Mary nodded, "Let's leave quietly so no one can find us, okay?"
"Of course!" Shirley's eyes lit up as she said, "Mary, you're a millionaire; you'll live well wherever you go!"
Mary replied, "Then let's plan slowly and not make any noise."
Shirley nodded, "Okay, I'll follow your lead."
Mary was determined to leave this time, so the next step was to plan which city to settle in.
In the following days, she ran into Matthew and Jessica every day after work.
Matthew acted as if he didn't see her, chatting with Jessica.
Mary also saw their gossip news constantly trending.
There were rumors that the Montagu family and the Johnson family joining forces. Matthew and Jessica were about to be engaged.
Maria walked over with her phone, leaned on her desk, and shook her head, "Mary, did you see the news? Matthew is getting engaged to Jessica. Are all men such jerks?"
How long had it been since their divorce?
And now he was getting engaged so quickly.
Mary's expression was indifferent, "He's single; it's his freedom."
Maria looked at her inquisitively, "You really don't care?"
Mary asked back, "What should I care about?"
Maria suddenly leaned in closer, "But it's Matthew. He's good-looking, has a great body, comes from a good family, and you were married. Don't you love him?"
Mary shook her head, "I don't love him."
Maria's eyes flickered, "That's good for you; at least you won't get hurt."
She handed her a document, "Making money is more important. This is the latest client's information. They want you to design a villa for their wedding. Study it well."
"Okay." Mary nodded.
This might be her last design project because she had already chosen the city where she would settle.
