Chapter 831 No Way, You Have a Criminal Record

Listening to Shirley, Mary couldn't help but feel a mix of amusement and exasperation.

But she obediently went back inside, realizing it was indeed getting a bit chilly.

A dreamless night passed.

The next day.

At nine in the morning, Mary arrived at the courthouse right on time.

Within five minutes, a Porsche Panamera pulled into a parking spot. Matthew stepped out, tall and striking, his features sharp and his eyes colder than the winter air around them.

"You're here so early? Aren't you cold?"

Matthew walked up to her and cupped her face in his hands, warming her cheeks with his touch.

Her face was cold, but his hands were warm, and for a moment, she found herself savoring the warmth.

Mary lowered her eyes slightly and said, "I just got here, too."

"Let's go inside."

With that, Matthew led the way, and they entered the courthouse together.

They were the first ones there.

With their paperwork and documents ready, it didn't take long for the divorce papers to be finalized.

When Mary received the papers, she opened them and carefully checked them. The words were correct, the seal was authentic.

It was the real deal.

Matthew looked at her, his eyes dark and intense. "I told you, I won't lie to you anymore."

Mary gave a small, wry smile. "Can't help it, you have a history."

Standing up and walking out, Mary exhaled deeply.

Finally, they were divorced.

Matthew casually tossed the divorce papers into her arms.

Mary looked at him, puzzled.

Matthew said nonchalantly, "You seem to like them, so they're yours."

Mary's lips twitched. She'd heard of people giving flowers or jewelry, but divorce papers? That was a first!

Still, she wasn't going to argue with him.

She extended her hand towards him.

Matthew looked at her. "What?"

Mary said, "Congratulations on being single again."

Matthew's smile was faint and not particularly happy. "That's not the kind of congratulations I want."

Mary noticed his off mood but didn't dwell on it. She withdrew her hand and asked, "So, what's your plan now?"

Matthew replied, "I'll have Nora go live and clear things up. It's best if she, as the person involved, explains everything."

Mary frowned. "Won't she get harassed online?"

Matthew glanced at her. "Aren't you worried about me getting harassed?"

Mary answered honestly, "No."

Matthew chuckled and walked towards his car.

Just then, his phone rang. He checked the caller ID—it was Michael.

Michael's voice was urgent and serious. "Mr. Montagu, something's wrong. Nora is missing!"

Matthew's expression darkened immediately. "When did this happen?"

Michael explained, "I went to the hospital, and the nurse was unconscious in the room. I checked the surveillance footage, but it had been tampered with. There's no usable footage!"

Matthew's eyes grew even colder. "Keep searching, inch by inch. Find out who took her right under my nose."

"Yes, sir!"

Michael responded promptly.

Matthew suddenly added, "Check on Linda's whereabouts."

"Understood."

After hanging up, Matthew turned to Mary, meeting her confused gaze. He said, "Nora is missing."

Mary quickly walked over, frowning. "What happened?"

The Montagu Group's hospital was known for its privacy and top-notch security. How could a person just disappear?
