Chapter 553 Regret
"Surprised, aren't you?" Michael looked at his shocked expression and gave a bitter smile.
"Of course, we all thought Laura saved Mr. Montagu, that she was a hero. But later, we found out the truth. She would stop at nothing to achieve her goals."
Michael put away the tablet. "Sam, all your persistence over the years was wrong."
"How could this happen?"Sam muttered to himself.
Matthew looked at him coldly. "You've been with me for so long and haven't made any progress."
Sam trembled all over, looking at Matthew with pleading eyes. "Mr. Montagu, I know I was wrong this time. Please give me another chance."
His voice choked up, and he was trembling violently.
Because he knew, Matthew would not give him another chance.
Matthew gave him a cold glance and said to Michael, "Break his hands and feet, and throw him in jail."
"Yes."
Michael felt hesitant, but it was Matthew's order.
Matthew turned and walked away.
Sam looked at Matthew leaving with a face ashen, his eyes full of regret!
Mary came out of the building and immediately saw Robert leaning against the car. She quickly covered her face with her hand and walked in the other direction.
"Mary."
Robert's voice came over, tinged with a bit of amusement. "What are you doing?"
Enduring the stares around her, Mary put down her hand and asked, "Robert, I should be asking you, what are you doing?"
Robert raised an eyebrow, a devilish smile across his handsome face. "I thought I wasn't high-profile enough yesterday."
Mary, "That's enough, really"
Please, no more high-profile!
She really couldn't handle it!
Robert chuckled, "Come on, get in the car."
Mary was a bit resistant and said tactfully, "Robert, Shirley invited me to lunch."
Robert, "Perfect, I'll take you there."
Mary was helpless.
She couldn't refuse.
Sitting in the car, she felt very uncomfortable.
Robert glanced at her and took out a pack of cookies. "You seem pretty nervous. Want some?"
Mary didn't hesitate and took them. "Thanks."
By eating something to distract herself, she felt less nervous.
Robert said, "You seem to be recovering well. I was worried about you yesterday."
Mary said, "It's not a big deal."
Robert's smile deepened. "If you think that way, that's the best."
Mary continued eating the cookies.
Robert said, "You mentioned before that a friend of yours was locked up in the Montagu Manor, right?"
Mary was a bit confused, "What?"
Did she say that?
Robert said, "I might have a way to help you get him out."
Mary immediately stopped thinking about whether she had said it and instead looked at him with bright eyes, "Really?"
Robert smiled, "I can try. Don't get your hopes up too high, though. It is the Montagu Manor, after all."
Mary, "Wouldn't that cause you a lot of trouble?"
Robert said, "Don't worry, it won't."
Mary still felt it was inappropriate. "The Montagu family has solid evidence. If we rashly get him out, and the Montagu family calls the police, he won't be able to escape."
