Chapter 208 Refusing to Communicate is Not an Option

"No way!" Mary refused, not even looking at Michael as she stepped into the elevator.

Michael felt a wave of frustration.

'They were fine last night. How do things go south so fast?' Michael wondered.

He followed her, trying to smooth things over. "Ms. Smith, if there's a misunderstanding, maybe you should talk to Mr. Montagu face-to-face..."

Mary shot him a cold look. "Get out."

Michael went silent. Refusing to talk wouldn't help, but her icy stare made him feel like Matthew was right there.

He quickly exited the elevator, watching the doors close with a helpless sigh. He took another elevator to the CEO's office.

Knocking on the door, he took a deep breath and entered. "Mr. Montagu, Ms. Smith has packed up and left."

Matthew threw down his document, making the office depressing . He dialed Mary's number, but she hung up on him!

Matthew thought, 'How dare she? It was her fault for insisting on attending that social event, causing last night's mess. And now she is mad at me?'

Matthew's expression grew darker. "Tell her if she doesn't come back, she'll never get divorced in her life!"

Michael stayed silent, his mouth twitching. He doubted Mary cared anymore, but with Matthew so angry, he didn't dare say it. He dialed Mary in front of Matthew.

This time, she answered. "You better have something."

Her cold tone sent chills down Michael's spine. He noticed Matthew's glare growing colder. "Ms. Smith, Mr. Montagu said if you don't come back,  you'll never get divorced.."

"Whatever!" Mary hung up.

Before Michael could speak, Matthew stood up, kicking over a chair in rage. He was like a lion on fire!

Mary didn't care about anything, not even the divorce.

"Fine! Very well!"

Michael didn't dare move or speak, waiting for Matthew's next command.

"Get out," Matthew growled. Michael quickly left.

Matthew yanked at his tie, feeling agitated, especially thinking of Mary's indifferent expression. He wanted to grab her and demand answers!

Mary, unaware of Matthew's state, wouldn't have cared anyway. She went back to Maple Grove Manor, looked at the beautiful house, and called Robert.

"Hello?" Robert's voice was groggy, clearly just waking up.

"Robert, still interested in buying the house at Maple Grove Manor?" Mary asked.

"Have you made up your mind?" he replied, sounding lazy.

"Yes," Mary said. She had never been so clear-headed. She'd sell the house at Maple Grove Manor and the one she bought before!
