Chapter 821 Someone Attacks
The smell of barbecue wafted through the air, grabbing Mary's attention. She was really hungry.
It was clear the guys at the next table were bothering Shirley. She kept trying to say something, but every time she glanced at them, she sighed in frustration.
"This is so annoying."
That was all she managed to say.
Mary responded, "Just focus on eating. We can talk about it later."
Shirley nodded.
The vibe was a bit off, but the meat was still delicious. Mary ate a lot, and the guys at the next table started changing their charcoal.
One of them carried a charcoal basin over. Just as he was about to place it in the grill, his eyes narrowed, and he hurled it at Matthew!
If the hot charcoal hit Matthew, it would cause serious injuries!
Everything happened so fast. Even though Matthew reacted quickly, he was backed up against the wall and couldn't dodge!
He raised his hand to protect his head, but the charcoal still struck his forehead, causing an immediate burning sensation!
Gasps of shock erupted around them!
Herman immediately restrained the man, snapping, "Call the cops!"
The man struggled violently, glaring at Matthew with fury. "You scumbag! You dared to hit people in the hospital, and you think you deserve to be the CEO of Montagu Group? People like you should just die!"
The scene was chaotic!
Mary jumped up and ran to Matthew, anxiously asking, "Matthew, are you okay?"
Matthew's face was extremely grim, his forehead red and burned, though the rest of him seemed fine.
There was ash everywhere.
Anthony, sitting next to him, was also affected and looked equally displeased.
The manager of the barbecue restaurant quickly came over to check the situation. Someone had already called the cops, and the manager hurriedly said, "He's just here to help today; he's not one of our staff. This has nothing to do with our restaurant!"
Mary coldly replied, "Whether it's related or not, we'll find out when the cops investigate!"
Such a quick attempt to distance themselves was infuriating!
Shirley looked at the man pinned to the ground and couldn't help but give him a thumbs up. "You did what I've always wanted to do but never dared. Kudos for your courage."
The man struggled for a long time but couldn't get up, his face flushed red, his eyes still filled with anger.
The cops arrived quickly, and the man was taken away for investigation.
Mary said, "Let's go to the hospital."
Matthew's deep eyes fell on her face. "Are you worried about me?"
Mary frowned. "Can you stop saying things like that at a time like this?"
"But I want to know how you feel," Matthew said.
Mary felt like walking away.
Herman said, "Mary, just humor him a bit, or he'll keep pestering you."
Mary frowned and said, "Hurry up and go to the hospital, or I won't care about you anymore."
Matthew nodded and obediently followed her.
Seeing this, everyone was surprised.
They thought Matthew would be difficult, but in the end?
One cold look from Mary, and he was compliant.
Herman raised an eyebrow and looked at Anthony, saying, "See? Everyone has their match."
Anthony replied coolly, "If he had realized this sooner, things wouldn't have escalated to this point."
