Chapter 172 When Will You Divorce Matthew?

Mary hesitated, then asked, "Is it not tasty?"

Robert replied, "Just one meal probably not enough."

"So?" Mary was surprised. "How many then?"

Amused, Robert held up three fingers.

Mary laughed, "No problem. Just let me know when you're free, and I'll cook for you." She saw Robert like an elderbrother.

Robert felt a strange familiarity and lowered his hand. "I'll let you know when I'm in the mood."

"Sure," Mary agreed. Cooking was her easy fix.

Though uneasy, Robert enjoyed Mary's cooking and had more than usual. Looking at the empty plates, he doubted himself.

Mary came over, drank some water, and asked, "Robert, is this enough?"

"Yes," Robert replied.

Mary sighed in relief. If Robert hadn't had enough, she would've run out of ingredients.

Robert got up, picked up the dishes, and headed to the kitchen to wash them.

Mary was surprised and quickly said, "Robert, I'll do it. Take a rest."

Robert furrowed his brows, his face darkened as he stared at her. "You don't have to be so formal with me."

"Why not?" Mary asked.

"We're friends," Robert replied.

Mary blinked, "That doesn't change anything."

Robert fell silent. He sighed, waved his hand, and said, "Forget it."

He then left the kitchen.

Mary was puzzled but didn't dwell on it. After tidying up, she saw Robert on the sofa, his legs crossed, checking his phone. His face was drop-dead gorgeous, like almost wickedly good-looking.

Looking at his excellent figure, Mary couldn't help but sigh, wondering if all rich guys were this good-looking.

Robert asked, "When will you divorce Matthew?"

Mary was taken aback.

"I don't know," she answered truthfully.

"If you need, I can get you a lawyer. I'll make sure you don't lose," Robert offered.

Mary shook her head, "Thanks, Robert, but it's not necessary. Legal action is the last resort."

Staring at her, Robert asked, "Do you love him?"

Mary remained silent. Sometimes, silence speaks volumes, making Robert uneasy.

What good had Matthew ever done for her? How could she love him?

"Forget it," Robert said as he got up and headed towards the door.

Mary also stood up, giving him a slight smile, "Robert, thank you. I know you want to help, but I can handle this."

"Okay," Robert replied. As he was leaving, he turned his head. Before he could say anything, Mary abruptly closed the door.

His mouth twitched. What did Mary mean by this? Not even a goodbye?

It wasn't that Mary didn't want to say goodbye. She suddenly had a severe stomach ache and realized that she got her period.

After taking care of herself, she went to bed.
