Chapter 730 Don't You Like It at All Anymore?

Matthew suddenly walked over to Mary, his voice low and intense. "Let's do something fun."

As he spoke, he grabbed Mary's hand and pressed it against the fingerprint lock.

"What are you doing?" Mary was stunned. Matthew was acting crazy again!

His cool fingertips brushed against her wrist, sending shivers down her spine. His grip was strong and domineering.

"You said  it isn't working for either of us."

At this moment, they were very close. Matthew's fresh scent enveloped her as he used his other hand to open the door and step inside.

Mary's internal alarm bells were ringing loudly.

She tried not to provoke him. Once the door closed, Matthew spun her around and pinned her against the door.

Matthew's tall frame loomed over Mary, and he leaned in as if to kiss her.

Mary turned her head, avoiding his kiss.

Matthew's hot breath fell on her cheek, making her freeze.

His lips stayed pressed against her face, not moving away, his intense gaze burning into her.

Mary's long eyelashes fluttered, and she said, "Matthew, I don't want this."

Matthew released her slightly, putting a bit of distance between them. He stared at her delicate face and asked, "Why?"

Before she could answer, he continued, "But I miss you so much it hurts."

Mary's eyelashes fluttered again, her body tensing up. "I don't want this."

Matthew leaned in closer, but this time, he didn't force a kiss. Instead, he rested his forehead against hers and asked in a husky voice, "So, Mary, do you really not like me anymore? Not even a little?"

"Yes," Mary whispered.

A pang of sadness crossed her heart, but she hid it well, not showing it on her face.

The air grew silent once more.

It was so long that Mary's legs started to feel uncomfortable.

After all, standing in one position for too long is hard for anyone.

Finally, Matthew let go of Mary, opened the door, and walked out without another word.

During that long silence, Mary had no idea what Matthew was thinking, but his leaving was the best outcome for now.

She had expected Matthew to forcefully do something, as he always had in the past.

But to her surprise, he just left.

His moods were truly unpredictable.

Mary let out a small sigh, closed the door, and went to the kitchen to make dinner.

For the next week, Mary didn't see Matthew at all, and her mood grew heavier.

What if Matthew didn't show up at court?

The night before the trial.

Two lawyers invited Mary to discuss the details of the court proceedings.

Mary went to the restaurant as planned and was surprised to see Joey there.

"Joey, what are you doing here?" Mary asked, surprised.

Joey smiled slightly. "I had some things to discuss with them, so I came along."

He handed her the menu. "You go ahead and order."

Mary nodded and took the menu.

Joey started talking to the lawyers about business matters, things Mary didn't really understand.

After ordering, Mary handed the menu to the waiter.

Once the waiter left, Joey looked at her and asked, "How have you been lately?"
