Chapter 32 Drinking This Wine Will Help her Forget the Bad Things
Laura sat next to Matthew, looking at a recipe on her phone. She seemed to have found a dish she liked and leaned towards Matthew, "Matthew, how about I make this dish? But we need to go to the supermarket. We don't have enough ingredients at home."
Matthew furrowed his brows and suddenly said, "Stop the car."
The driver immediately pulled over.
Laura looked at him, puzzled, "Matthew, what do you mean?"
Matthew turned to the driver and said, "Make sure Ms. Griffin gets home safe."
He then turned to Laura, "I have to go."
With that, he opened the door and walked away.
"Matthew..." Laura called after him, but he left without turning back.
Laura clenched her phone, and her expression quickly turned cold!
She saw it. Matthew had just been looking at messages on Instagram and saw Mary, which made him leave immediately!
Matthew had promised her to come over for dinner!
Could it be that Mary had really captured his heart?
No! She absolutely wouldn't allow such a thing to happen!
Inside the bar, the lights flickered, creating a lively atmosphere.
Mary grabbed Robert's arm and led him back to their table. She patted Shirley on the shoulder and said, "Look, I brought someone back!"
Shirley gave her a thumbs up, "Impressive!"
Mary poured Robert a drink and handed it to him, "Hey sunshine, have a drink..."
Robert didn't take it, a hint of a smile appearing on his charming face, "Are we just going to drink like this? That's no fun."
Mary blinked, "Then how do you want to drink?"
Robert stared at her, lining up eight glasses on the table and filling them all.
"Drinking with me comes with conditions. If you finish all these, I'll have a drink with you. How about that?"
Mary looked at the row of glasses, feeling a bit lost, "There are quite a lot of drinks here."
Robert's eyes turned cold, "Are you going to drink or not?"
Mary put the glass down, "No, you're no fun at all!"
"Heh!" Robert sneered, "You dare to take things from me? You have to drink these tonight, whether you like it or not!"
With a wave of his hand, several bodyguards appeared out of nowhere and surrounded their table.
The music in the bar dimmed at some point, and everyone turned in their direction.
Mary was stunned. She had never seen such a big scene before.
"On what ground can anyone force others to drink? If you don't want to drink, then leave us."
Mary sobered up a bit, realizing she had provoked the wrong guy.
FromRobert's demeanor, she could tell he was no ordinary person.
She couldn't help but sigh inwardly. How did she change so much after drinking?
She had actually provoked someone like him.
Robert said, "Do you think you can make me leave simply by asking? Drink it or..."
"Fine, I'll drink. You're so petty." Mary rubbed her temples in frustration, picked up a glass, and emptied it.
"Mary..." Shirley was slightly stunned.
Mary, however, continued to drink one glass after another. If one looked closely, tears were welling up in the corners of her eyes.
Her mind was not on the current predicament but on the constantly appearing image of Matthew's cold and handsome face.
She was still in pain.
Whenever Mary thought of Matthew, her heart ached.
Why was it so hard to forget someone?
Could drinking all this alcohol help her forget the bad things?
Mary didn't go easy on herself.
Even Robert, who had a casual smile on his face, was taken aback.
