Chapter 323 Let You Cry to Your Heart's Content

Mary was giving it her all, but she was still weak from that fever and hadn't eaten a thing.

Her face turned beet red. "Matthew, I'm not your prisoner! We might not be divorced yet, but you can't just boss me around!"

Matthew sneered. "Oh, I'll show you who's boss today!"

He yanked her into his arms and headed outside.

"Mary..." Robert, who had just started to recover, saw Mary being dragged away and immediately tried to follow.

"Robert!" Mary felt a pang of guilt, tears streaming down her face.

'This is all my fault! If I had left earlier, Robert wouldn't have gotten beaten up by Matthew,' she thought.

Matthew's face darkened even more when he heard her call out to Robert.

Robert turned to the butler. "Get someone to stop them!"

The butler looked worried. "Mr. Williams, you're in bad shape. You should go to the hospital first."

"Do as I say!" Robert coughed violently, spitting out blood, his face growing even paler.

"Yes, Mr. Williams." The butler, seeing Robert's condition, didn't dare disobey and quickly called the bodyguards to stop Matthew.

A flicker of disdain crossed Matthew's eyes.

Robert struggled to stand up and said to Mary, "It's okay. If you don't want to do something, no one can force you."

He started coughing again.

Mary's tears flowed even harder. She pounded on Matthew. "Let go, let go of me."

Matthew grabbed her wrist. "Let you go so you can be with him? Mary, I won't kill you, but I won't hesitate to kill him!"

Mary shivered in fear. Looking at Matthew's stern face, she felt a chill sweep over her.

She was almost certain he would do it.

She had already dragged Robert into this mess; she couldn't let him die because of her!

She bit her lip and looked at Robert. "Robert, thank you, but I have to go."

Robert frowned. "Mary, I'll be fine. He won't kill anyone. I won't let him take you away."

But not daring to take that risk, Mary shook her head. "Robert, go to the hospital and get checked out. This is my fault, and I'll make it up to you."

She looked away, unable to face Robert again.

To protect her, Robert had been so badly injured.

She really didn't deserve his kindness.

Matthew's cruel sneer echoed in her ears. He grabbed her chin, forcing her to look into his eyes. "You care about him so much? How about I just kill him, and you can cry all you want?"

Mary trembled with anger. "Matthew, I already said I'd go with you. What more do you want?"

Matthew's tone was icy. "Seeing you cry for him pisses me off. What do you think I should do, hmm?"

Mary closed her eyes, forcing herself to calm down.

"That's better." Seeing her stop crying, Matthew smirked in satisfaction and carried her out of the villa.

Robert watched them leave, his eyes bloodshot, clenching his teeth.

Soon, the ambulance arrived, and the butler helped Robert onto it.

But just as they got on, the butler received a phone call, and his face immediately darkened. "Mr. Williams, your uncle somehow got wind of the news and snatched away an investor you've been in contact with."
