Chapter 676 Robert Arrived First
At that moment, the phone rang, and Matthew tapped his Bluetooth earpiece.
Michael's voice came through, "Mr. Montagu, we found Mrs. Montagu. She's in an abandoned factory on the outskirts of Lindwood City, west side."
Matthew's handsome face tightened, his eyes flashing dangerously as he stared ahead. He spoke coldly, "You go to the shareholders' meeting for me. Just keep those old guys calm."
Michael replied, "Got it."
The pressure was immense.
Michael hesitated before adding, "Also, Maria found out that Robert is heading there with his team."
"Understood."
Matthew hung up.
Meantime, Mary shifted to a more comfortable position. Her hair was disheveled, and she was covered in dust. Her clear eyes coldly watched Roy, who was still playing with his lighter.
"Why did you kidnap Matthew and Samuel back then?"
Driven by curiosity about the events of that time, she decided to strike up a conversation with Roy.
Logically, Richard should have been very fond of Matthew, his only son. But Richard's attitude was one of disdain, even wanting to control Matthew.
Now, Richard had mercilessly oppressed Matthew, taking everything from him and turning him into an ordinary person.
And who was this Samuel they mentioned?
Roy didn't answer her. He just stared at her with cold eyes, like a venomous snake ready to strike at any moment.
Mary pressed her lips together and fell silent.
The air was quiet, the wind howling outside as the weather grew colder.
Leaves were blown inside, and Mary stared at them, feeling a deep sense of sorrow.
She never expected that the things she did back then would come back to haunt her.
If she could do it all over again, would she still choose to call the police?
Mary closed her eyes.
Just then, the faint sound of cars approaching could be heard outside.
Roy paused his fiddling with the lighter and stood up, walking to the factory entrance. The factory was on higher ground, and he could see several cars speeding towards them from a distance.
"Pretty quick," Roy smirked, pulling a knife from his pocket and toying with it.
Soon, three or four cars came to a stop. The door of the lead car opened, and Robert stepped out, his face cold.
"Where's Mary?"
Roy looked at him, slightly puzzled. "Who are you?"
Robert stepped forward, "I asked you, where's Mary?"
"Stop right there." Roy said calmly, "I've doused the area around here with gasoline. If you don't want to die, don't come any closer!"
He lit the lighter.
Robert stopped, his handsome face showing irritation. "You kidnapped Mary. What do you want?"
Roy's eyes gleamed with greed. "I thought I could only threaten Matthew, but you showed up too. I don't want much, just prepare five billion dollars, and I'll let her go."
How dared he demand five billion dollars!
"Robert, leave! Don't worry about me!" Mary was shocked to hear Robert's voice and shouted.
The factory was empty, and her voice echoed clearly.
Robert looked into the dark factory, unable to see Mary's situation.
