Chapter 651 Even If You Don't Love Me
Mary's body immediately tensed up as she watched him warily.
Matthew gazed at her deeply and said, "Mary, do you really not care anymore?"
Mary found it laughable, "Matthew, what are you doing?"
Matthew took her hand and placed it on his chest, his handsome face showing a hint of confusion, "Why do I feel so hurt by the things you said? Especially here, it hurts a lot."
Mary's fingers curled slightly as she forcefully withdrew her hand, "Matthew, there's no need to tell me this, I don't care..."
"No," Matthew interrupted her, "You do care. You used to love me, you..."
"You said it yourself, that was in the past," Mary looked at him calmly, with no trace of emotion in her eyes.
In the past, just gazing at his eyebrows and eyes would make her heart flutter, wanting to touch and kiss him. But she didn't know when it started, when she looked at him, all she felt was indifference and calm.
No more of those heart-pounding thrills.
Matthew clearly realized that she truly didn't love him anymore.
So love can be taken back?
He pressed his lips together slightly, his sexy Adam's apple moving up and down, his eyes dark and filled with turbulent emotions, but they quickly disappeared.
"Was I too excessive? But Mary, I really don't want to divorce you."
His tone was very calm.
Gone was the usual cold and domineering attitude, like a friend, he spoke his heart.
He never said it before.
But he suddenly realized that if he didn't say it now, it seemed like there would be no chance to say it.
Mary's long eyelashes trembled, and after a while, she said, "Let's divorce, between us..."
"I don't agree." Matthew's tone turned colder, as if he had returned to his usual cold and domineering self.
"Mary, I don't agree to the divorce. As long as I don't agree, even if I die, we won't get divorced."
In his eyes, there was a hint of obsession and madness.
He stared at her, "I know you had Robert help you, you brought him into this, so if anything happens, you can't blame me."
Mary frowned, "What do you mean?"
Matthew took her hand, feeling her resistance, his heart ached, but he couldn't help but touch her.
"No one can stop us from being together. Anyone who tries to stop us, I won't let them go," Matthew stared at her and said word by word.
Mary looked at him, unable to say a word for a moment.
After a long time, she said, "Do we have to be together? Even if I don't love you?"
Matthew replied, "Yes, even if you don't love me."
Mary closed her eyes.
So, she couldn't change this outcome?
It really left her at a loss for words.
Just then, the door to the hospital room suddenly opened.
Mary composed herself and turned her head to see Joey walking in.
"Mr. Cooper?" Mary was surprised, "Why are you here?"
Joey smiled slightly, "I finished work today and thought I'd come see you. You don't look well, are you feeling unwell?"
His gaze fell on Matthew, and Joey's smile faded a bit, "Mr. Montagu, you still have the time to be here?"
Matthew gave him a cold glance and said, "None of your business."
