Chapter 333 When Will You Come Back?

"Joan!" Robert scowled. Joan was being super rude, totally not cool!

Joan shot him a dirty look and turned away, feeling all wronged and stuff.

Mary gave a little smile and said, "Robert, I'm outta here. Take care and get some rest."

Robert replied, "I'll have the driver take you."

"No need, I'm hitting the market first," Mary said with a grin.

Hearing this, Robert smiled. "Alright then, stay safe."

"Okay."

Mary left the room, and Joan immediately turned to Robert. "Robert, who is she anyway? Why does she come to see you even though she's married?"

Robert looked a bit helpless. "Joan, you're not a kid anymore. That was really rude, you know?"

Joan's eyes suddenly welled up. "Robert, how can you say that to me? I'm just looking out for her. What if her husband finds out she saw you, gets jealous, and they fight?"

Robert said, "Her husband knows she's here to see me."

Matthew definitely knew, and he might even be pissed.

Thinking of Matthew being angry but helpless, a hint of a smirk flashed in Robert's eyes.

Joan was speechless, not expecting that.

She pouted and said, "I know I was wrong, Robert. I won't do it again. Don't be mad at me."

Robert's eyes flickered slightly, and he said, "Does your family know you're here?"

Joan shook her head. "No, I rushed over as soon as I heard you were here."

Robert said, "You should go back. If your family finds out you're hanging out with me, they'll scold you again."

"I'm not scared!" Joan said, "I just like being with you, and besides, I'm an adult now. They can't tell me what to do!"

Robert sighed helplessly, "Joan, don't be stubborn. Go back, okay?"

Joan couldn't stand Robert talking to her like this, as if she were a princess he doted on.

Her face turned a bit red. "Then I won't disturb your rest. Call me if you need anything."

"Okay." As Robert watched her leave, the helpless and gentle expression on his face vanished instantly.

A hint of mockery flashed in his eyes, and then he closed them.

Mary went straight to Shirley's place. After punching in the password, she found the place in a total mess.

She stood there thinking for like five seconds, then started tidying up. After cleaning, she hit the market.

Robert's injury would take at least a hundred days to heal, and she had taken on the responsibility of his meals for the next three months!

She bought some beef ribs and other veggies, and when she got back, she started making soup.

Sitting on the couch, she took out her phone and sent a message to Shirley.

Mary: [I sold my house, so I'm crashing at your place for now.]

Shirley: [No problem, stay as long as you want!]

Mary: [When are you coming back?]

Shirley: [Might be a while. Oak City's scenery is great. I'll bring you a gift when I return.]

Mary: [Okay, I'll wait for you to come back.]

Just as Mary exited the chat with Shirley, Matthew's call came in. She answered, her tone icy, "Hello?"

Matthew said, "When are you coming back?"

Mary said, "Back where?"

Matthew said, "Bluewater Bay Villa. I've been staying here."
