Chapter 382 If She Doesn't Love Me, Who Does She Love?
Matthew's voice was cold as ice. "If she doesn't love me, then who does she love?"
Herman just stayed quiet, thinking, 'Matthew is so sure of himself.'
Not wanting to crush Matthew's ego any further, Herman finally said, "You're right, she's only ever loved you. But remember, whether she loves you or not is up to her, not you."
Matthew's face darkened. He didn't want to hear Herman's weird advice and hung up right away.
He couldn't believe Mary didn't love him.
Those memories kept reminding him that she did!
Mary headed out after breakfast.
When Matthew came downstairs, he was already dressed, but she was nowhere in sight. He looked at the butler and asked coldly, "Where is she?"
The butler replied, "Mrs. Montagu went out after breakfast."
Matthew's handsome face grew even colder.
Just then, his phone rang. He saw it was a call from Linda.
His eyes turned icy, but he still answered, "Hello, Aunt Linda."
Linda's gentle voice came through. "Matthew, your grandmother's birthday is coming up. Any plans for the party?"
Matthew said, "We'll do it the same as every year."
Linda replied, "That works. Just don't forget to bring Mary; your grandmother adores her."
"I got it," Matthew said indifferently and hung up.
Victoria's birthday party was in two weeks.
Matthew held his phone, thinking for a long time before finally turning and leaving.
Mary arrived at Maria's studio and knocked on the door. Maria was talking to someone, but when she saw Mary, she lit up with a smile. "Mary!"
Mary smiled back. "I've decided. I want a spacious and bright office."
Maria was thrilled. "I've got just the place for you. Come on, let me show you!"
Mary nodded and followed Maria inside.
Maria took the chance to explain the salary and benefits. As an architectural designer, the main income came from project commissions, so earning money depended on one's skills.
After understanding, Mary said, "Ms. Diaz, I look forward to working closely with you in the future."
Maria immediately pulled out a contract. "I thought you'd need more time to think. Didn't expect you to decide so quickly."
Mary said, "Something came up, so I'm staying for now."
Maria said, "If you need any help, just let me know."
Mary smiled. "You've worked so hard to keep me here. I'll definitely work hard and help you achieve financial freedom soon!"
Maria nodded. "Alright, thank you!"
They exchanged smiles.
Mary started working right away. The studio was already set up with everything she needed. She just had to turn on the computer and get started.
In her previous company, she had built a network of contacts, especially after completing the Henry Group project. Many people sought her for design work. She had been turning down offers before, but now she reached out to them. Many companies were willing to collaborate, but she needed to provide initial drafts first.
Mary got busy.
Maria sat in her office, watching Mary work diligently. She secretly took a photo and sent it to Matthew.
Maria: [Mr. Montagu, Mary looks so charming when she's serious. I'm falling for her.]
Matthew: [Got it.]
