Chapter 235 Who Are You

"Sorry."

Mary's cheeks turned red as she glanced at David, her eyes showing a hint of apology.

She'd had too much to drink because she wasn't great with alcohol.

With this fruit wine, she could handle half a bottle, but a full bottle would get her drunk.

David's ears reddened as he supported her. "You're drunk. Let me help you to the tent to rest, okay?"

He started guiding her towards the tent.

But Mary shook her head. "No, I want to look at the stars."

She'd stood up because the stars were beautiful!

The night sky was fully dark, and the stars were twinkling, looking pure and lovely.

She smiled at David. "You didn't lie; it's really beautiful!"

Mary was close to David, and the mix of her fragrance and the scent of alcohol wafted towards him. She wasn't wearing makeup, her features were delicate, her eyes soft, and the slight blush from the alcohol made her look enchanting.

David's heart pounded, his gaze falling on Mary's lips.

"Mary, can I..."

Before he could finish, he was suddenly pushed away, and Mary was pulled from his arms.

David steadied himself and saw a man with a noble, cold demeanor holding Mary. The man's narrow eyes were icy as he looked at David.

David felt a chill but still asked, "Who are you?"

Matthew's tone was cold, but his gaze was on Mary's face. Seeing her looking so clean yet alluring, and thinking about her smiling at David, anger surged in him.

He pinched Mary's waist, his deep voice saying, "Tell him who I am."

Mary felt dizzy but wasn't completely out of it. She frowned. "What are you doing here?"

Matthew's tone grew colder. "Tell him who I am!"

He increased the pressure on her waist, as if he might break it.

Mary let out a muffled groan and pushed him away.

"Let go of me. Who you are has nothing to do with me."

Seeing this, David stepped forward to pull Mary back. "Mary doesn't know you. Let her go!"

Matthew's anger grew. He stared at Mary, suddenly grabbing her chin and kissing her.

Mary was stunned, momentarily forgetting to react.

She looked at Matthew's face so close to hers, and tears suddenly fell from her eyes.

"Matthew." She mumbled, wrapping her arms around his neck, responding to him.

Matthew's body trembled, and his kiss became even more fierce and passionate.

David's eyes widened in disbelief. "You... you two..."

Matthew kissed the corner of Mary's lips and said, "Mary, tell him who I am."

Mary only looked at his face, as if she'd forgotten the pain Matthew had caused her. She only remembered him as the Matthew who had lost his memory.

"You are my husband." She murmured softly.

Matthew's lips curled up in satisfaction as he looked at David.. "Are you still planning to stay here and watch us kiss?"

David looked like he'd been hit by a bolt of lightning.

David questioned inwardly, 'Mary's husband! She actually is married! But she had clearly said that she didn't have a boyfriend.'
