Chapter 234 Starting to Look for a New Boyfriend?

They got busy with the barbecue, and soon the delicious smell filled the air.

Mary took out her phone, snapped a photo, and sent it to Shirley.

Shirley: [What's up? Is that a guy's hand? Mary, are you finally dating again?]

Mary quickly put her phone away, not wanting David to see it and get embarrassed.

David handed her a skewer. "Try this."

Mary took a bite. "Mm, not bad."

David's face lit up, and he blushed a bit. He stood there awkwardly.

"What's up?" Mary asked, confused.

"N-nothing," David stammered. "Want more?"

Mary nodded. "Yeah, it's good. Thanks."

David stood by, watching her eat.

The setting sun cast a warm glow on them, creating a cozy scene.

Not far away, a group surrounded Matthew as they walked in, with the campsite manager grinning.

"Mr. Montagu, I'm John Perry. Welcome! Everything's ready, please follow me."

John ran the campsite and had a big organic garden with chickens, ducks, fish, and pigs. It was a popular spot for Lindenville's elite.

Rodolfo had recommended the place, and Matthew agreed to come, not expecting to see David and Mary looking so good together.

Matthew glanced coldly, then followed John inside.

Mary and David finished the barbecue and sat under the tent. Mary handed him a bottle of fruit wine.

"Can you drink?"

David smiled. "No, I have to drive later."

"Alright, I'll drink alone," Mary said, taking a sip.

The wine was sweet and mild, barely alcoholic.

Mary enjoyed the barbecue and wine, feeling relaxed.

David watched her smile and suddenly asked, "Mary, do you have a boyfriend?"

"Hmm?" Mary looked at him. "No, what's up?"

She didn't have a boyfriend, but she had a jerk of a husband.

Mary took a big gulp. The wine was good and easy to get tipsy on.

She had already drunk two bottles, and her cheeks were flushed.

David's eyes brightened. "What kind of boyfriend are you looking for?"

Mary squinted. "Good-looking, gentle, sometimes domineering, but especially good to me, always accommodating..."

As she described, she thought of Matthew—the Matthew who had lost his memory.

David's eyes lit up. He was about to say something when Mary suddenly stood up, dizzy from the alcohol, and staggered.

"Careful!"

David quickly supported her, and she fell into his arms.

Matthew saw the whole scene from a distance.
