Chapter 318 Do You Get to Decide?
Mary yanked Laura to the bedroom door. Inside, a dim bedside lamp barely lit the room. Matthew, in a bathrobe, lounged against the headboard, the robe's collar open, a cigarette dangling from his lips, pale blue smoke curling around him.
"Keep going."
Mary shoved Laura inside, her face ice-cold.
Her hands and feet were freezing.
'Are they really this desperate at the Montagu Mansion? Matthew said he wouldn't marry Laura. But now, what's he doing?' She couldn't help but think, 'I've even seriously thought about divorcing Matthew. Does any of this matter? It doesn't matter anymore!
Matthew isn't the man I fell for; he always wants to be with Laura! Now that they're finally together, I should be clapping and celebrating. I'm finally free!' She screamed inside, 'But why? Why does my heart hurt? I decided not to love him, so why is it still so painful?'
The more Mary suffered, the calmer she looked.
"You've killed my vibe. How am I supposed to continue?"
Matthew took a deep drag of his cigarette, his eyes hidden in the pale blue smoke, staring at her with a chilling gaze.
Matthew thought, 'So she really sent Laura here. She'll do anything to get a divorce.'
Mary had held onto a sliver of hope, thinking he would deny it, but he actually admitted it.
His words felt like a slap to her face, burning with pain!
She took a deep breath and said, "This is good, Matthew. Let's get a divorce, and you two can get married. Don't let Ms. Griffin bear the stigma of being a mistress; it would be unfair to her."
Matthew suddenly stood up, his tall figure walking towards Mary.
He grabbed Mary by the neck and pinned her against the wall!
Laura, seeing this, felt a bit scared but also humiliated when she thought of the earlier scene.
Her eyes flickered as she said to Mary, "Ms. Smith, Matthew and I should have gotten married two years ago. I'm not a mistress."
Mary felt breathless. Hearing Laura's words, she forced a mocking smile.
"Right, you're not. I am. So can I get a divorce now?"
Matthew's eyes darkened as he stared at Mary, but he spoke to Laura, "You go out first."
Laura bit her lip and turned to leave.
Once out of the room, her face turned grim.
At that moment, Linda walked over. "Laura, what happened?"
Seeing Linda, Laura immediately walked towards her.
"Mary, do you think that seeing this will make the divorce go smoothly?"
Matthew looked at her, a cold smile on his lips.
Mary frowned, "What do you mean?"
She wondered, 'He has already slept with Laura, and he still doesn't want a divorce?'
Matthew grabbed her clothes with his other hand and tore them apart with a forceful pull!
"You interrupted us, leaving me unsatisfied. Now you can make up for it."
With that, he leaned in for a kiss.
Mary's pupils narrowed, and she raised her hand to slap him!
"Matthew, don't go too far!"
Mary pondered, 'He has already had sex with Laura, and now he is entangling with me! How disgusting!'
Matthew's head turned from the slap, his tongue pressing against his cheek, a sinister look in his eyes. He grabbed her by the neck and dragged her to the bed!
Mary's eyes widened. "Don't touch me, I don't want this!"
Matthew forcefully restrained her. "Do you think you have a say in this?"
