Chapter 54 Don't Even Think About It

Matthew's room was on the 9th floor.

However, just as the elevator was about to reach the 7th floor, Matthew suddenly reached out and canceled the stop.

Mary frowned and asked immediately, "What are you doing?"

Matthew replied, "Now that everyone here knows we're a couple, it's not appropriate for us to sleep separately."

Mary said, "I don't believe they would care about your private life."

Matthew responded, "Just in case."

At this point, Mary couldn't press the 7th-floor button anymore as the elevator had already stopped at the 9th floor. She glared at him resentfully.

Matthew had already walked quite far ahead when she got out, but instead of following him, she went straight to the stairwell.

Matthew looked at her and tugged at his tie, "Mary."

Mary paused, "What?"

Without turning around, she didn't see the deep meaning that flashed in his dark and profound eyes.

Matthew let out a barely audible sigh and said, "We don't really have any conflicts. Can't we get along peacefully?"

Mary clenched her fists tightly!

Now he was talking about getting along peacefully, wasn't he?

She used to have that in mind, but what had he done?

Because she initially refused to divorce, Matthew had been very cold towards her.

And now, he was asking for peace.

Mary chuckled, "Sure, one million dollars and I will attend the dinner party."

Matthew's expression paused, "Is that what you're asking for?"

Mary turned to him, "Since you are the one who needs to consider the company's cooperation, not me."

She looked indifferent.

If he wanted peace, he would have to pay for it!

Matthew stared at her eyes, which filled with sarcasm, his breathing deepening. He cursed inwardly, 'How dare she!'

Seeing him remain silent, Mary walked towards him, arms crossed, and looked at him coldly, "Or we don't get divorced, and I'll naturally fulfill my duties as Mrs. Montagu. But you also have to act like a proper husband. As for repaying favors, forget it."

"Five million dollars, and you move in."

Matthew coldly stated, then turned around, took out the room key, and swiped it to enter a room.

Mary's smile hadn't fully faded before it turned bitter.

Mary wondered, 'Was he willing to compromise whenever Laura was involved? Did he like Laura that much? Then why didn't he get a divorce straightforwardly?'

The doorbell rang.

Matthew opened the door and saw Mary standing at the entrance, her expression indifferent.

"Luggage?" He asked.

Mary replied nonchalantly, "Didn't bring any."

Mary walked in, dropped those words, and began to inspect the room.

It was a suite with three rooms inside, two bedrooms, and a study. The living room was large, and the leather sofa was very soft.

Mary went straight to the secondary bedroom, "I'll stay here."

Matthew's voice was low and magnetic, "You're staying with me."

Mary turned to him, "Does your business partner even care whether we sleep in the same room? Isn't that a bit rude?"

Meeting her sarcastic gaze, Matthew felt an inexplicable annoyance. Nevertheless, he said, "I can pay more."

"No way!" She responded firmly.

Mary's smile faded, and she shook her phone, "Wire the money now. Forget about anything else!"
