Chapter 212 About to Be Discovered

Herman reached out and touched his arm, saying, "I heard Shirley and Mary on the phone. What did you do to make her want to leave Lindwood City?"

No answer. Matthew just hung up.

"What a bad temper!" Herman muttered, putting the phone aside and leaning against the headboard.

"Shirley!" he shouted, feeling a wave of dizziness.

After a bit, Shirley opened the door and asked, "What's up?"

Herman squinted, "Let's be friends on Facebook. I'm tired of yelling for you."

Shirley replied, "You can call me."

Herman refused, "That's too much hassle."

Shirley fell silent, giving him a strange look.

'Is it more trouble to call or to open an app and send a message? What's wrong with Herman?' Shirley thought.

But thinking she could get rid of him in a week, she didn't argue and added him as a friend.

Herman looked at her profile picture and asked, "Do you like snow?"

Shirley's expression froze as she cursed inwardly, realizing she had forgotten to change her profile picture. Both her main and secondary accounts had snowy elements.

"Yeah, I live in the South and haven't seen snow yet," Shirley lied.

She had seen snow before, during a trip to see the aurora.

Herman sneered, "You're quite sheltered, aren't you?"

Shirley's face turned cold, "None of your business!" She turned and left.

Herman didn't push it and opened another chat window.

Fool Adams: [Snowy, your name has 'snow' in it. Do you like snow?]

Shirley left the room and saw a message on her secondary account. She sneered and went to the kitchen to reply.

Snowy: [Yes, Mr. Adams, I live in the South. It's romantic to see snow and make a snowman with someone.]

Snowy: [It would be even better if I could do it with you!]

She sent a “shy” emoji.

Fool Adams: [Your vacation is coming. It's snowing in the North; you could go see it.]

Fool Adams: [Take some pictures for me when you do, so I can see too.]

Snowy: [Yes, I'm about to go on break, but the North is too far. I have to earn money for tuition during vacation. It's a pity I can't share beautiful snow pictures with you.]

Fool Adams: [I transferred $50,000 to you.]

Fool Adams: [You go see the snow; leave the rest to me.]

Snowy: [Mr. Adams, why are you so kind? I've never met anyone as nice as you.]

Fool Adams: [Just remember to take pictures for me.]

Snowy: [I'll work hard to earn money to go by myself. I can't take your money.]

Fool Adams: [Just take it, or I'll be upset.]

Snowy: [Mr. Adams, don't be mad. I'll accept it.]

She sent a "heart" emoji.

Shirley smiled and wondered, 'Herman usually seems sharp; how does he become so dumb with a college girl? What an idiot!'

"What are you smiling at?" Herman's voice suddenly came from behind.

Shirley was startled, and her phone fell, screen up. Herman instinctively looked over!
