Chapter 555 Letting Go of Mary?

The atmosphere in the elevator felt a bit eerie.

Amidst the chill, there was a faint sense of relaxation. The oppressive atmosphere seemed to spread, but it vanished when it encountered Robert and Mary.

A strange and inexplicable feeling made people feel suffocated.

The elevator was steadily ascending. After a while, the elevator doors opened, and Matthew strode out, his expression unusually stern.

Robert looked at his figure, raising an eyebrow in surprise. Matthew didn't do anything, which was unlike his character.

Could it be that he gave up on Mary?

The elevator doors closed, and Robert's gaze fell on Mary's face, only to see her staring at the elevator doors in a daze.

No.

She should be staring at Matthew.

It was just that the elevator doors closed, blocking her view.

The coldness in Robert's eyes deepened, and he asked, "What are you thinking about?"

Mary's eyelashes trembled, and she said, "I was just thinking about what role he plays in all of this."

Robert said, "Whatever role he plays has nothing to do with us anymore."

Mary was momentarily dazed and then nodded, "You're right."

She and Matthew were already divorced.

So, it didn't matter.

The elevator doors opened again, and Mary walked out. At the door of her home, she turned and waved at Robert, "Goodbye, Robert."

Robert nodded, "Don't overthink it. Leave everything to me."

Mary smiled slightly and then entered the room. She took out her phone and called Shirley.

"Mary, have you arrived?" Shirley asked.

Mary said, "Shirley, come to my place. I don't feel like going out to eat."

Shirley was taken aback, "But I've already ordered the food."

Mary pondered and asked, "Can't it be packed to go?"

Shirley was silent.

After hanging up the phone, Mary sat on the sofa, looking tired.

She felt a bit restless.

No matter how much she hinted to herself that she had nothing to do with Matthew anymore, every time she saw him, she would feel restless.

Matthew had a significant influence on her

It was a bit beyond her expectations.

How could she get rid of this annoying feeling?

She couldn't come up with a good solution even after thinking for a long time. When Shirley arrived, Mary still looked worried.

Seeing her, Shirley asked in confusion, "What's wrong?"

Mary shook her head, "Nothing, maybe I didn't sleep well. What did you want to talk to me about?"

Shirley hesitated for a moment and said, "Mary, I'm planning to leave Lindenwood City."

"What?"

Mary was taken aback, "Leave? Where to?"

Shirley shook her head, "I don't know yet, but if I stay in Lindwood City, things might get out of my control."

Seeing her expression, Mary immediately understood, "Is it related to Herman?"

Shirley nodded dejectedly, "That bastard seems to have his eyes on me. I think I messed up."

Mary was very helpless. She had long warned Shirley not to mess with Herman lightly.

Could someone who was friends with Matthew be a good person?

Mary thought of something and her expression became serious, "Did he do something to you?"

Shirley immediately felt guilty and shook her head, "No."

Mary, however, kept staring at her without blinking.

Being stared at like this, Shirley felt even more guilty. Finally, she said, as if deflated, "We had sex, more than once, and he doesn't seem to want to end this messy relationship."
