Chapter 501 A Familiar Feeling
Mary was startled and turned to see the shadow of a speeding motorcycle disappearing from view.
"Thank you."
She turned to the person who had grabbed her, and when she saw his face, she was slightly taken aback.
"You're welcome."
It was a young man, tall and thin, wearing a mask. His exposed eyes were sharp, with his bangs naturally falling, partially covering his stern expression.
Mary was momentarily dazed; this person looked like Matthew!
The man turned and started to leave.
"Wait!"
Mary immediately blocked his path and hesitantly asked, "Have we met somewhere before?"
Still wearing his mask, the manspoke in a muffled voice that revealed no emotion. He shook his head, "No, I don't know you."
Mary continued, "Did you work part-time as a waiter at Montagu Mansion?"
The memory of the waiter who had rushed out to stop the wheelchair at Victoria's birthday party surfaced in her mind, gradually merging with the man in front of her.
However, she had been too flustered at the time to notice the waiter's appearance, though she remembered a general impression.
The man in front of her looked very similar to that waiter!
The man shook his head, "No."
A hint of disappointment flashed in Mary's eyes, and she smiled apologetically, "Sorry, I mistook you for someone else."
The man said nothing and walked away.
Mary watched his back, still feeling a sense of familiarity.
Since he denied it, she couldn't continue to pester him with questions.
She decided not to walk anymore and took out her phone to call for a ride.
She hadn't expected people to be racing motorcycles around here; it was not safe at all.
When the car arrived, Mary got in and started thinking about what Matthew had said.
Acting?
But what if the other party didn't make any moves?
What if their assumptions were wrong from the start?
Mary's mind was in turmoil.
Moreover, she was already divorced from Matthew and didn't want to have too many entanglements with him. If she agreed to act, it would inevitably lead to more contact with him.
That was not what she wanted to see.
Maple Grove Manor.
Mary entered the community, and someone appeared in front of her.
Laura blocked her path, barely concealing her disgust, and asked, "Do you know there's a new woman around Matthew?"
Mary's expression turned colder, "I've already divorced him. It's none of my business."
After saying that, she walked past Laura, not wanting to deal with her.
Laura looked at her and took two steps forward, "Mary, are you so heartless? Matthew was so good to you, and you feel nothing? Did you ever really love him?"
Mary thought Laura was being ridiculous and directly asked, "So, what's your purpose in coming to me? To help you get rid of that woman? Are you dreaming?"
She pointed to the sky and added, "It's nighttime now. Wait until daytime to dream; that's what you call daydreaming."
With a mocking glance, she walked straight towards the building ahead.
Laura's hand clenched into a fist as she fell into deep thought.
Why was Mary so indifferent to this news?
That woman named Jessica, under the pretense of collaborating with the DK Group, appeared in front of Matthew every day, trying to seduce him!
She was the one who was supposed to become Matthew's wife!
Other women were not worthy at all!
Staring at Mary's back, Laura's gaze turned more venomous.
