Chapter 239 Why Don't You Get Lost?

David glared at Peter, but two guys pinned him down, making it impossible for him to get up.

Peter sneered and turned to Mary, a lecherous look in his eyes. "Mary, dinner with him is boring. This junk food is trash, just like him. Come with me, and I promise you'll eat well."

He reached out to touch her face, but Mary dodged, her eyes cold. "I told you to get lost. Why are you still here?"

A nearby man sneered. "Mr. James, she's feisty."

"Yeah, Mr. James, you gotta win her over. We wanna see her beg for mercy."

Disgusting words filled the air.

David struggled. "Let go! You guys are breaking the law!"

He got punched. "I call the shots in Lindenville!"

Peter looked at David with disdain, then turned to Mary, but a bowl of hot soup hit him!

Peter screamed in pain, the spicy soup burning his eyes. "You bitch, I'm gonna kill you!"

Before anyone could react, Mary grabbed David and ran.

"Mr. James, wash your face first."

Peter poured water over his eyes and saw them running away. "What are you standing around for? Chase them! We have to catch that bitch today. She'll pay!"

The men ran after Mary and David.

David looked at Mary, surprised. "You've pissed him off. What now?"

Mary kept running. "I'm leaving Lindenville soon. He won't find me."

David said, "I used to hope you'd stay, but now I think you should leave ASAP. His dad is Rodolfo. No one messes with him."

Mary glanced back, her eyes widening. "Stop talking, they're catching up!"

David grabbed her wrist and led her through several twists and turns until they lost the men.

They stopped, Mary leaning against a wall, out of breath. David laughed. "Feels like we're on the run."

Mary waved her hand. "Not funny. I need to pack my things."

David said, "I'll go with you."

Peter had his eyes on Mary, and David didn't feel safe letting her go back alone.

Mary was about to refuse but stopped, realizing they were in an unfamiliar part of town.
