Chapter 628 Marry Me
Mary's expression froze for a moment. She reached out to press the elevator button and asked, "What should I do then?"
Robert pondered for a moment and said, "How about I send a few more bodyguards to you?"
Mary imagined the scene of being escorted by a group of bodyguards on the street and couldn't help but laugh and cry. "I don't want that either, but I don't know what's going on with Joan. She suddenly came to the hospital to make trouble and even tried to drive Sean's mother away. They don't even know each other, so why is she doing this all of a sudden?"
Robert said, "Then you need to think about who is targeting Sean, even to the extent of using it to do the dirty work."
Mary walked into the elevator, her face turning cold.
Who else could it be?
The only one who had been targeting Sean was Matthew!
She had settled Lisa in the Williams family's hospital, so he couldn't directly target her and had to use someone else's hand.
And now, she had a direct confrontation with Joan, which meant Joan would be even less likely to spare Sean.
Mary felt a deep sense of helplessness.
Robert said, "I'll send someone to the hospital to protect them. Don't worry."
Mary tugged at the corner of her mouth and said, "Robert, you've helped me so much. I don't even know how to repay you."
"That's simple," Robert smiled and said, "Marry me."
Mary fell silent immediately.
She tightened her grip on her phone and then said, "If it weren't for Matthew, I might really consider it."
Robert was so good; who wouldn't be moved?
But she had once loved Matthew and didn't want to easily touch love again.
It was too hurtful.
Robert sighed, "It seems I came too late."
Mary said, "Robert, I have another call coming in. I'll hang up now."
"Okay."
After hanging up, Mary let out a slight sigh.
Not knowing how to respond, she had to pretend another call was coming in.
Robert's words had caught her off guard.
She was aware of Robert's affection for her, yet she found herself unable to reciprocate.
The elevator doors opened, and Mary adjusted her state and walked out.
With the measurements done, the next step was to draw the design.
Mary threw herself into her work. When she looked up, it was already pitch dark outside, and there was no one else in the office.
She checked the time; it was 10 PM.
Mary was speechless and had unknowingly worked overtime.
She packed her things, turned off her computer, and walked out.
The hallway was quiet, hidden in the darkness in the distance. She walked to the elevator, and the lights came on, but inexplicably, she felt a chill.
Mary took out her phone and sent messages to Joshua and Terry, who responded immediately.
The elevator doors opened, and Mary walked in, reaching out to press the close button.
But, just like last time, the elevator doors wouldn't close.
She didn't dare to go out and sent a message to Joshua.
Joshua said he was already on his way up.
She kept her eyes fixed on the elevator door, waiting for Joshua to arrive.
Just then, a tall man wearing a hat and mask walked in and pressed the close button.
Mary was extremely nervous!
This person gave her a very dangerous feeling!
She needed to get out now!
She almost instinctively pressed the open button to leave, but just as she was about to step out, she hesitated.
Was there really no one else outside?
Mary felt a chill run down her spine as cold sweat dripped down her forehead!
