Chapter 291 Don't You Want to Know Who Your Biological Parents Are?
The moment she dreaded most had come and gone.
Crying? Total waste of time.
The car screeched to a halt at the orphanage entrance.
Barbara was on cloud nine today, thinking, 'Handled that little brat Mary, Peter's happy, and no one's gonna mess with Rebecca anymore.'
She was humming a tune, busy with her stuff.
But then, a loud crash came from the front gate!
"What the heck?" Barbara muttered.
She was stunned. Rushing out to check, she saw the big iron gate had been smashed to bits!
A bunch of cars rolled in and stopped not too far away.
Barbara was freaked out at first. Once she got her bearings, she pointed at the cars and yelled, "Who the hell are you? You're trespassing! Get out now and pay for the gate, or I'm calling the cops!"
Car doors swung open, and a squad of black-clad bodyguards stepped out, their presence giving her the chills!
Then, Mary stepped out of one of the cars.
Barbara's eyes went wide with disbelief. "You... how are you here?"
Mary gave her a cold stare. "Disappointed to see me?"
Barbara took a couple of steps back, her face going pale.
She thought, 'How is this possible? How is Mary here in one piece? I sent her to Peter. Even if she wasn't dead, she should be messed up! If Mary's fine, then something must've happened to Peter!'
Mary walked towards Barbara, step by step. Looking at Barbara, who'd always hated her, she felt puzzled. "I'm curious, why have you never liked me since we were kids? Even now, you're still plotting against me?"
Barbara hesitated, forcing herself to speak, "Mary, what do you want?"
'Everyone loves a sweet, well-behaved kid,' Barbara thought.
Mary was always quiet and reserved. Barbara used to like her, but Mary never responded.
In the orphanage, Barbara was the boss, and Mary was the challenger.
Over time, she grew to hate Mary and even got other kids to bully her.
Barbara mused, 'Why am I scheming against Mary now? For my own rich life! As long as Mary's dead, I'm set for life. That's what Rebecca promised me!'
But now, everything she wanted was slipping away!
Mary looked at her. "Answer my question."
Barbara glared at Mary viciously. "You ungrateful brat, I saved you and raised you for years, and this is how you thank me? You even brought people to break my gate. What's your deal?""
She didn't answer Mary's question, just cursed at her.
Mary shook her head slightly, thinking, 'Guess I'm not getting an answer.'
She waved her hand, and two black-clad bodyguards stepped forward, grabbing Barbara.
"What are you doing? Let me go!"
Barbara screamed and struggled, but could a middle-aged woman really outmatch two strong men?
She was quickly overpowered, rendered immobile!
Mary said, "Take her to the police station. Peter's going to jail, and I want to see who can save you this time."
Barbara's eyes widened in disbelief!
'Peter is Rodolfo's son, and he's going to jail! Then I'm screwed!'
"Mary, you can't do this to me. Let me go! Don't you want to know who your real parents are?"
Barbara thought of this and immediately shouted.
