Chapter 394 Stay Far Away from Him

Shirley looked at her and shook her head. "Mary, you've been talking a lot. What's your point?"

Mary replied, "Stop giving him a hard time. You're just asking for trouble."

Shirley went quiet. Even though she didn't want to admit it, it was true.

Lindwood City was Montagu Family turf, and she couldn't do much. If Matthew got mad, he could make her vanish without a trace.

Mary said, "Shirley, I'll handle things with him, but I don't want you involved. I don't want you to be my weak spot."

Shirley hugged her. "But Mary, if I'm not around, you'll be all alone. He'll definitely mess with you."

Mary's eyes teared up a bit. She sniffed and said, "It's fine. Once I divorce him, even if he begs, I won't give him another glance."

"That's the spirit!" Shirley clapped her hands.

They strolled through the garden, reminiscing about old times.

Time flew by.

Mary looked up and saw Matthew's tall figure on the second-floor balcony, watching her.

Even from a distance, she could feel his impatience.

She lowered her eyes and said to Shirley, "I'll have someone take you back. You should leave Lindwood City ASAP."

Shirley nodded. "Okay."

Mary called for a driver and watched Shirley get into the car and leave.

It wasn't until the car was out of sight that she went back to the villa.

Mary went straight upstairs and into the bedroom, looking at Matthew. "I need a study room."

Matthew said coldly, "You're the lady of the house. Pick any room you want for your study."

After a pause, he added, "The room next to my study has good lighting."

Mary turned and headed to the room at the end of the third-floor hallway, setting it up as her study.

It was far from Matthew's study.

Mary told the butler what she needed, and he got right on it.

The stuff arrived quickly. As they were moving things, Matthew came out of the bedroom and saw the office supplies being moved to the third floor.

His expression darkened, and he asked, "Why are they moving stuff to the third floor?"

The butler said, "Mrs. Montagu picked a room on the third floor for her study."

Matthew's face turned even darker.

He went straight to the third floor and saw the items being moved into the room at the end of the hallway. His face looked even worse.

"What are you doing here?" Mary came up to check on things and saw Matthew standing at the stairway.

Matthew's cool gaze fell on her, and he asked coldly, "Your study is here?"

Mary nodded. "Yeah, the lighting here is better for my drawing."

Especially since it was far from him, she was very satisfied!

Matthew gave her a long look and then went straight downstairs.

Mary ignored his mood, went into the study, and directed the workers to place the tables and chairs.

The setup was done quickly. Mary took her computer into the study, looked at the scenery outside, and soon had some ideas in her mind.

The next day, after going to work, she submitted the first draft to the client and then waited for feedback.

Maria came over, placed a cup of coffee in front of her, and asked, "How's it going? Getting used to it?"
