Chapter 542 "Are You That Worried about Me?"
"Hello, Ms. Smith, my name is Joshua Thomas."
"My name is Terry Thomas."
The air fell into an eerie silence as soon as they finished speaking.
Mary said, "That's it?"
Joshua and Terry exchanged a glance, and Joshua said awkwardly, "That's it."
Mary was amused and then asked, "What are you good at? What are your salary expectations?"
Joshua and Terry exchanged another glance and then looked at Robert in unison.
Robert rubbed his forehead helplessly and said, "You two, have a seat first."
Joshua and Terry sat down.
Robert briefly introduced their situation and finally said, "As for the salary, just pay them what you think is fair."
Mary shook her head and said, "I can't just pay them what I think is fair. They are responsible for my safety which is a very dangerous job. Whatever you're paying them, I'll double it."
Robert raised an eyebrow, "So generous? Can I apply to be your bodyguard too?"
Joshua and Terry immediately tensed up.
No way!
Mr. Williams wanted to compete with them for the job.
That couldn't happen!
If Mary hires them, they could get triple the salary. That would be incredibly lucky!
Mr. Williams couldn't do this!
Mary didn't expect him to say that and quickly responded, "Robert, stop joking. If you were my bodyguard, I wouldn't sleep well at night."
Robert smiled at her, "Worried about me that much?"
Mary's eyelashes fluttered slightly, and then she looked at Joshua and Terry, "You guys don't mind, right?"
"No, we don't mind."
They said in unison.
That was triple the salary; how could they mind?
Mary took out her phone, "From now on, I'll rely on you to protect me at all times."
Joshua and Terry exchanged numbers and contact information.
At that moment, the waiter brought the food to the table.
Mary said, "Alright, let's eat."
Robert looked at her serene smile, a faint trace of disappointment flashing in his beautiful eyes.
After the meal, he said, "I'll pick you up tonight to go somewhere."
Mary asked, puzzled, "Where?"
Robert smiled mysteriously, "You'll know when we get there. But I can give you a little spoiler; you've been there before."
Where could it be?
Looking at the smile on Robert's face, Mary couldn't figure it out.
But, wherever it was, she'd find out tonight.
Back at the studio.
Maria saw her and immediately said, "Mary, you're finally back. Perfect timing, come with me to the hospital."
Mary frowned and asked, "The hospital? Are you not feeling well?"
Maria shook her head, "Not me. It's a client we worked with before. His father is in the hospital, and we should go visit. If the client sees our sincerity, they'll continue to work with us."
Mary thought for a moment and nodded, "Alright."
Maria took various gifts from the office, and they headed to the hospital together.
VIP ward.
Maria and Mary entered a room, and Maria started chatting with the people inside, while Mary played the role of a background figure.
Patients shouldn't be disturbed for too long, so after a few words, they left.
Maria said, "Wait for me; I need to use the restroom."
