Chapter 609 It Was Indeed She Who Came to Ask Him
"You!" Mary's eyes flashed with anger, but soon, the anger gradually disappeared.
After all, she was the one asking for a favor.
Even though he was the biggest villain.
No one could blame him when he had the power to do whatever he wanted.
Mary softened her stance and said, "Matthew, I'm begging you, can you stop targeting others?"
Her tone was gentle, and when she spoke like this, it felt like a warm, gentle stream flowing over the heart, very comforting.
In the past, she always spoke to him like this.
But later, she hadn't spoken to him this way for a long time.
Matthew's fingers tightened around her chin, and he suddenly leaned in closer. She saw her eyelashes flutter twice but she didn't pull away.
Mary thought he was going to do what he liked, but unexpectedly, he suddenly let go of her and said coldly, "Make me dinner."
Relieved, she nodded, "Okay."
It was no big deal for her to cook.
She went straight into the kitchen, using whatever was available, and got busy.
Matthew stood at the kitchen door watching, his eyes growing darker and deeper.
She cooked for as long as he watched.
When the dishes were set on the table, she looked at him, "Is this enough?"
Matthew walked over and saw that all the dishes were his favorites. His eyes flickered.
Was it intentional, or just a subconscious choice?
He said coldly, "Sit down and eat with me."
Mary nodded and sat down, eating in small bites.
The dining room was very quiet for a while.
After a long time, Matthew put down his utensils, and Mary immediately looked up at him, waiting for his next words.
But Matthew didn't say anything, turned around, and went straight to the study.
Mary exhaled slightly, cleaned up the dining table and kitchen, then made some coffee and went directly to the study.
Matthew was in a video conference, so Mary quietly put down the coffee and left.
Matthew glanced at her, his eyes dark, wondering to what extent she would go for others.
The video conference lasted two hours. When he came out again, he saw her sitting in the living room watching TV.
The TV volume was very low, as if she was afraid of disturbing him, almost inaudible.
Seeing him come out, Mary asked directly, "Matthew, have you made up your mind?"
Matthew put his hands in his pockets, looking at her with deep eyes, "Would you do anything I ask you to do?"
Mary's breath hitched, "If I do, will you stop?"
Matthew replied, "Not necessarily."
Mary tugged at the corner of her mouth, "I knew it; you've always been an untrustworthy, immoral person."
Hearing her insult him, he wasn't angry. He walked over and sat next to her, "What are you watching?"
Mary said, "A TV show."
"What TV show?" Matthew started making small talk, and Mary responded, but stiffly.
Strangely, the two of them ended up watching an entire episode of the TV show together in the living room.
By then, it was already late at night.
Mary yawned, stood up, and said, "If you haven't made up your mind today, I'll ask you again tomorrow. Goodbye."
Saying that, she was about to leave.
But Matthew suddenly grabbed her wrist, and with a slight force, pulled her into his arms, holding her soft body. His breath brushed against her neck.
