Chapter 342 You Don't Believe Me

Mary shot him a look, her eyes steady but her voice a bit frosty. "But Matthew, bottom line, you don't trust me."

Matthew's brow scrunched up.

Mary's tone was breezy. "Sure, I cleared it up this time, but what if someone sets me up next time and I can't explain it? You gonna just assume it was me?"

Matthew's lips tightened into a thin line.

He really couldn't promise he'd trust her.

He shut his eyes, and suddenly, memories flashed: a woman holding a toy, teasing him. He grabbed it, but it blew up in his hand.

His hand was left bloody and wrecked.

Stuff like that happened too many times.

Mary said, "So, to dodge these misunderstandings, how about we get a divorce?"

If they split, anything that happened to him wouldn't be her problem anymore.

She wouldn't have to feel sad or hurt by his every move.

Matthew glared at her. "After all this, your goal is divorce, Mary? No way!"

Mary pressed her lips together.

She had still failed.

"Ms. Griffin?" Just then, a bodyguard's unsure voice came through.

Mary looked over and saw Laura had fainted.

Matthew saw it too but just said coldly, "Take her to the hospital."

"Yes." The bodyguard quickly picked Laura up and took her to the hospital.

This couldn't get back to Richard, or things would get messy.

Mary turned and walked away.

Matthew watched her leave, feeling super annoyed.

Mary left Bluewater Bay Villa, called a taxi, and stood by the roadside waiting.

She lowered her eyes a bit, thinking about what Laura had said.

But when he first got his memory back, he didn't treat Laura like this. He even wanted to divorce her for Laura.

So what changed now?

How could he say such harsh things to Laura?

Was there something she didn't know about?

Mary was lost in thought when a car pulled up. She looked up and saw the window roll down, revealing Matthew's cold, handsome face.

She didn't move.

Matthew said, "Get in, I'll take you."

"No need, I called a car." Mary still refused.

Matthew got more irritated and was about to get out of the car when another car pulled up.

Mary's phone rang, she answered, "Hello?"

"Hello, did you call for a ride?"

Mary nodded, looked at the car, and saw the license plate matched the one she called, so she walked over.

Behind her, Matthew's cold gaze followed her until she got into the car and he couldn't see her anymore.

Matthew stared hard, his eyes dark and unreadable.

"Get out!" He snapped at his driver.

The driver quickly got out of the car.

Matthew jumped into the driver's seat, started the car, and sped off like a bat out of hell!

Mary saw Matthew's car zoom by, her eyelashes fluttered, pondering, 'Is Matthew nuts? Driving that fast in the city?'

Back home, she got out of the car.

But after walking a bit, she suddenly heard a voice behind her. "Miss, wait a sec!"

Mary turned around, confused, and saw the ride-share driver holding something. He was tall, wearing a mask, only his eyes showing, looking at her with a bit of a smile. "Miss, is this yours?"

Mary looked and saw it was a keychain.
