Chapter 700 Sean Worries About Her

Matthew coldly looked away. "Get back to work."

Michael paused and said, "Mr. Montagu, we got a message from the Montagu Estate. Mrs. Victoria Montagu wants to see you."

Matthew's face stayed blank. "Okay."

He only said one word, not giving any hint if he'd go or not.

Michael carefully continued, "Mr. Montagu, no matter what Mrs. Victoria Montagu has done, she's pretty old now and not in great health. She just wants to see you. Maybe you should..."

Matthew glanced at him. "You're working so hard. Should I give you a raise?"

Michael was caught off guard, then smiled awkwardly. "Actually, no need for that. A bigger year-end bonus would be fine."

"How about we skip the ceremony and just direct-deposit the appreciation?" Michael said quietly.

Michael chuckled. "Mr. Montagu, I merely suggested it; please don't take offense. I have other things to do, so I'll be going now."

It would have been wiser to leave before Matthew got angry!

Matthew's eyes went back to the documents in front of him, but he couldn't focus on a single word.

Mary had been busy all afternoon. As the end of the workday approached, she called Matthew again.

This time, he answered.

Mary said, "The villa is finished. When will you send someone to inspect it?"

Matthew replied, "I'm not feeling well. Maybe later."

Mary suggested, "You could send someone else."

Matthew responded, "I don't trust anyone else. I need to inspect it myself."

Mary paused, about to hang up.

Matthew suddenly said, "Grandma wants to see us."

Mary paused, remembering Victoria's hostility towards her. She said, "You go. I don't want to ruin her mood."

Matthew said, "She doesn't have much time left. Seeing her might be the last chance."

Mary was speechless.

Who talked about their grandmother like that?

Well, Matthew had always been like this, lacking in manners.

She checked the time and asked, "When?"

Matthew said, "I'll send someone to pick you up."

"Okay." Mary agreed and waited quietly.

About half an hour later, Matthew texted her: [I'm downstairs.]

She gathered her things and left.

As she stepped out, she saw Sean coming out of the elevator.

"Why are you back?" Mary asked, puzzled.

Sean looked relieved to see her. "I heard there were some incidents here recently. I thought you might still be working, so I came to check on you. I was worried."

His face was full of concern.

Mary remembered the recent incidents and frowned slightly, glancing down the hallway. "Is the surveillance on this floor still not fixed?"

Sean replied, "I'm not sure. So from now on, just leave on time. If you have work, do it at home."

"Okay." Mary nodded.

They went downstairs together and exited the building.

Not far away, a Rolls-Royce was parked by the curb. The luxurious car and its sleek design attracted a lot of attention.

The car door opened, and Michael stepped out, walking to the back and opening the door. He smiled at Mary. "Mrs. Montagu, please."

He seemed to emphasize her title.

Sean's expression changed. "Mary, you haven't divorced yet?"
