Chapter 751 Jealousy
Joey didn't expect Matthew to be so blunt.
Did this guy have no sense of boundaries at all?
Joey's eyebrows furrowed slightly as he looked at Matthew and said, "This is between her and me. It's none of your business."
Matthew smirked and replied, "I don't buy it."
Mary ignored Matthew and turned to Joey, "Let's go over there."
Not far away was a small park where people were taking walks. The sun was shining, and a gentle breeze was blowing, making it pleasantly cool.
"Sure," Joey nodded and walked with Mary towards the park.
After a few steps, he glanced back at Matthew, his eyes filled with mockery.
Matthew was speechless.
His gaze fell on Mary, and after a moment, he sighed in frustration.
What could he do?
She was his treasure now, and he had to cherish her!
In the park.
Joey asked, "Are you getting back together with him?"
Mary shook her head, "No."
Joey looked at her in surprise, "But you two showed up here together."
Mary glanced at him and said, "If I told you it was a coincidence, would you believe me?"
Joey sighed, "It doesn't look like a coincidence to me. It seems more like a setup. Mary, Mr. Scott's schedule is tight. If we don't go to court soon, your case will be delayed."
Mary nodded, "I know. I'm planning to withdraw the lawsuit."
Joey was even more surprised and asked, "Why?"
Mary sighed, "Divorce requires both parties to agree. If one person disagrees, it won't happen. Filing a lawsuit won't help."
Matthew wanted to play dirty, and there was nothing anyone could do about it.
Joey frowned and said, "That's true, but this isn't a solution either."
It was true. But what could Mary do?
Matthew refused to divorce, and she had no options.
She could only take it one step at a time.
Mary said, "It's okay. He'll agree eventually."
Joey looked at her with concern, unable to say anything for a moment.
The two of them returned after half an hour. Matthew was already standing by a car, holding a cigarette between his slender fingers, his face cold and impatient.
Mary walked over and turned to Joey, saying, "I'm leaving now. Goodbye, Mr. Cooper."
Joey nodded, "Call me if you need anything."
"Okay."
Mary nodded, and suddenly her wrist was grabbed. She turned and met Matthew's cold eyes.
"What are you doing?"
Matthew said, "I'm checking if you've been brainwashed."
Mary looked at him strangely, "What nonsense are you talking about?"
Matthew replied coldly, "Why else would you be gone so long? It's broad daylight, keep your distance from other men."
Mary said, "I think you're seriously ill."
She pulled her hand away and got into the car.
Matthew's dark eyes flashed with a hint of gloom. He extinguished his cigarette and got into the car.
When they returned, David was teaching the kids.
Mary looked at Matthew and asked, "Are you leaving tonight?"
Matthew said, "You want to leave? Then let's go."
Mary nodded and said, "Let's leave together."
There was still a lot of time in the afternoon. Mary planned to go back to her room and rest. She hadn't slept well last night.
But then there was a knock on the door from the warehouse.
