Chapter 546 You Can Be Like Laura

The tide had already started to rise.

In the distance, the containers stood like monsters in the darkness, slowly swallowing the people inside.

Mary gazed calmly, but the darkness in the distance made it difficult for her to see the process of the tide rising.

Scenes of her being trapped inside a container flashed through her mind, her hands and feet bound, filled with despair and helplessness.

Watching death approach helplessly, yet being able to do nothing.

Laura, was this how you feel now?

Mary lowered her gaze slightly and stopped looking.

At that moment, a phone appeared in front of her.

Mary looked at Robert in confusion.

A faint smile appeared on Robert's androgynous and handsome face. "I installed a camera on top of that container. You can see Laura's entire process of despair."

He stared into Mary's eyes. "Do you want to watch?"

Mary was very surprised; she didn't expect him to do this.

Robert said, "Don't be surprised. I just think that if you don't see the person who once hurt you being punished with your own eyes, then what is the point of the punishment?"

His gaze went blank for a moment as if recalling something, but soon his expression settled into calmness.

Mary's gaze fell on his phone. With just one click, she could see Laura in a state of desperation and pain.

Should she watch it?

She asked herself.

Mary suddenly closed her eyes. She wasn't Laura; she couldn't be so ruthless.

Robert saw her expression and sighed softly, saying, "Mary, you can't be too soft-hearted. It will harm you."

Mary said softly, "But if I do this, what's the difference between me and Laura?"

Robert countered, "What's wrong with being like her?"

"What?" Mary looked at him, puzzled.

Robert shrugged. "People are born to live for themselves. Laura does this very well. For her benefit, she uses any means necessary, so she lives well."

He looked at Mary. "If you also want to live well, being as unscrupulous as she is an option."

"No, that's not right." Mary shook her head. "My well-being can't be built on others' suffering."

She wasn't Laura.

She would only be Mary.

Robert looked at her deeply, then slowly smiled. "Alright, shall we go back?"

"Okay."

Mary nodded.

There was no need to see what would happen to Laura.

If Laura was really lucky, she might survive. But if not, there was nothing Mary could do.

Robert turned the car around. "I thought you would ask me to release Laura."

Mary smiled. "I'm not that kind. She did hurt me, and I still want to get back at her."

"Not bad."

Robert nodded, approvingly.

She could retaliate, but she couldn't do it excessively.

If her heart wasn't ruthless enough, what would she do in the future?

With Matthew already targeting her, how could she possibly escape?

A faint chill flashed in Robert's eyes. No matter, he would help her.

As the car drove away.

A figure quickly ran towards a certain container.

"Ms. Sarah?"

Sam knocked on each container, looking for Laura, his face growing more anxious.

At that moment, a sound came from one of the containers.
