Chapter 563 He Did It

"Do you know why Herman found you so quickly?"

Hearing this, Mary immediately stopped in her tracks. She slowly turned around, and her face was full of disbelief. "It was you?"

Matthew smirked. "That's right."

With a cigarette between his fingers, he walked up to Mary. Seeing her pale face from the shock, he reached out to caress it. His tone was low and gentle, like a lover's whisper, but his words were incredibly cruel.

He said, "How could I allow someone who could hold you back to leave? Mary, Shirley can't escape, and neither can you."

Mary was furious and raised her hand to hit him, but Matthew easily grasped her wrist, looking into her eyes filled with rage.

"Mary, it won't be that easy to end between us. It won't end until death, do you understand?"

Mary was beyond furious, her breath trembling, and her whole body shaking!

It was him!

Why would he do this?

How could he do this?

Shirley was about to leave!

She could escape the same fate as hers!

Just a little bit more!

She thought Shirley was hope, a hope that could fly away, but Matthew had personally broken those wings.

How could he be so cruel?

At this moment, she couldn't control her emotions, tears welling up in her eyes. "Matthew, why are you doing this to me?"

Her tears fell, as if they landed on Matthew's heart, burning a hole, scorching and painful.

He wiped away her tears, his gaze deep, his tone still gentle. "Because I don't want to let you go. I want you by my side always. Mary, I've never been a good person. Your expectations of me are too high, and you're bound to be disappointed."

Mary suddenly pushed him away and ran off desperately!

It felt like God was playing a big joke on her!

She thought that by divorcing Matthew, their relationship would end, and there would be no more ties or connections!

But Matthew never intended to let her go. Even if he didn't love her, even if their relationship was a source of mutual torment, he still wouldn't let go.

Everything in front of her was blurry, tears continuously falling. She was powerless to fight Matthew, powerless to change what was happening to her.

He wouldn't let go, nor would he let her be.

How did it come to this?

Her heart felt like it was thrown into a volcano, repeatedly scorched, burning with pain, and then suddenly thrown into a glacier, the extreme cold eroding her, and she felt an agonizing pain tearing at her very being, making her suffer immensely.

The cold wind howled as the rain poured down, soaking her in an instant Cars sped by on the road, and pedestrians became fewer and fewer. She stood by the roadside, wishing she could just die in this downpour.

She tried to fight against the unfairness of fate, but her strength was so insignificant.

The cold rain enveloped her, then she blacked out, fainting.

Matthew had been following her all along. Seeing her faint, he rushed forward to catch her, he carried her to the car with a grim expression. He turned on the heater and wrapped her in a blanket.

She was still shivering.

Her lips were very pale, and even in her unconscious state, she was muttering, "Why, why won't you let me go? Matthew, I don't love you anymore!"
