Chapter 815 Matthew's Extreme Arrogance

Now was the perfect time to strip Matthew of his power. If they couldn't find someone to replace him now, he would become unstoppable. What future would the rest of the shareholders have then?

"Is she not coming?"

Matthew's voice broke the silence, slow and laced with a hint of amusement, as if he had anticipated this all along.

Finnegan glanced at him, his expression stern. "Linda's devoted to Richard. With him bedridden, she needs to take care of him. Looks like we'll have to find another suitable candidate."

As his gaze swept the room, one of the shareholders suddenly spoke up, "If we're talking about experience and capability, Finnegan's the only one in the Montagu Group who can handle the role of president. We've all seen his dedication to the company over the years. I vote for Finnegan to temporarily take over as president of the Montagu Group!"

"I agree!"

"Me too!"

The shareholders on Finnegan's side quickly voiced their support.

However, those sitting across from them had mixed reactions; some frowned, while others remained neutral.

Two shareholders closest to Matthew spoke up directly, "Finnegan, have you considered your age? You're almost at retirement. Why get involved in this? If this proposal passes, it should only be a temporary position. We could find someone else easily. I think Mr. Montagu's assistant would be a great choice. He's capable, courageous, and has been by Mr. Montagu's side for years. He knows how things are run and could handle the role without any issues."

Michael's expression grew more serious. He nodded slightly at the shareholder and said with a smile, "Thank you for the vote of confidence."

Isaiah turned to Matthew, "Matthew, what do you think?"

Matthew replied, "Your suggestions are all good, but I have no intention of resigning."

Finnegan immediately looked at him, frowning. "What do you mean? After such a major incident, you still want to stay on as president? Aren't you afraid of public backlash and the irreversible damage it could cause the company?"

Matthew's dark eyes fixed on him. "If the first reaction to a crisis is to throw the leader under the bus to divert attention, then what use are all of you?"

"You!"

Finnegan's face turned livid. "Matthew, I am your elder. When I was running the Montagu Group with your father, you were still playing somewhere. Is this how you talk to me?"

Matthew's gaze turned icy. "What? Trying to pull rank on me? Even my dad wouldn't dare say that. Who do you think you are to judge me? Let me make this clear: I am not resigning. This matter is closed. Go back to your duties. If you're really unhappy, fine, sell your shares to me and retire."

With that, he stood up and left the meeting room, his attitude arrogant to the extreme.

He had the absolute power to back up his words.

Matthew held the most shares and had the most support. Removing him from the president's position at the Montagu Group was no easy task.

At least, this incident alone was far from enough to achieve that goal.

"Unbelievable!"

Finnegan's face turned ashen with rage.
