Chapter 707 Even God Doesn't Want Us to Divorce

"Alright." Mary nodded, watching David drive away.

Shirley stood next to her and couldn't help but say, "You know, David's actually a pretty good guy. Why don't you give him a chance?"

Mary looked at her helplessly. "I'm not considering anyone. How about I consider you instead?"

"Really? You'd actually consider me? You finally noticed me? I'm so touched." Shirley looked at her with a face full of surprise and emotion.

Mary immediately opened the car door and got in.

Shirley quickly followed, "Wait for me! Were you serious just now? Would you really consider me? Mary, say something!"

Mary remained silent.

Back home, Mary took a shower and lay in bed, thinking about the divorce she was going to finalize with Matthew tomorrow. Her heart was filled with excitement.

She had been looking forward to this day for so long, and now that it was finally happening, it felt almost unreal.

She tossed and turned in bed for a long time, and it wasn't until the early hours of the morning that she finally managed to fall asleep.

But her sleep was restless, filled with nightmares, and when she woke up the next day, she had noticeable dark circles under her eyes.

Looking at herself in the mirror, she decided that the divorce needed a bit of ceremony, so she put on some makeup.

The makeup accentuated her features, and Mary chose a long dress to wear, paired with a cashmere coat and her favorite perfume.

When she came out of the bedroom, she saw Shirley sitting in the living room. Shirley looked at her and was slightly taken aback. "Are you going on a date?"

Mary twirled in front of her. "How do I look? Am I pretty today?"

Shirley stood up. "So, you really are going on a date? With whom?"

Mary gave a mysterious smile. "I told you, it's a secret. I'll tell you once it's done."

Shirley was instantly curious and frustrated. What on earth was going on?

But seeing Mary's expression, Shirley knew she wouldn't get an answer. She could only munch on her bread, feeling annoyed.

Mary left the house, first contacting the delivery service to pick up her things, and then headed to the courthouse.

However, the traffic was terrible today. She had been stuck on this road for almost an hour without much progress.

The sound of impatient drivers honking their horns all around made her even more anxious.

Mary checked the time; it was already 10 AM.

Just then, her phone rang. She looked at the screen and saw it was Matthew.

She answered the call, her heart instantly tightening.

He wouldn't be backing out, would he?

Matthew's deep, pleasant voice came through, "Why aren't you here yet?"

Mary paused. "I'm stuck in traffic. I should be there soon."

So, he wasn't backing out. He was already there.

That was surprising.

Matthew's tone turned colder. "I'll wait for you for another hour. If you're not here by then, it means even God doesn't want us to divorce. I suggest you reconsider."

Mary's grip on her phone tightened. "I'll definitely be there within the hour."

Matthew didn't say anything else and hung up.

Fortunately, less than five minutes after the call ended, the traffic started moving.

She passed a traffic light, and after a turn, she would be at the courthouse.

Mary's eyes brightened.
