Chapter 575 A Subtle Relationship
The birthday party was held at No. 9 Club.
When Maria and Mary entered, they saw that the large private room was already filled with many people, all of whom were prominent figures in Lindwood City. Of course, none of these people knew Maria.
Some people recognized Mary but did not come forward to greet her.
They knew Mary's identity and were also aware of her divorce from Matthew.
In their eyes, Mary had nothing.
Maria pulled Mary to a corner, her eyes sparkling as she looked at those people and said, "Mary, do you know? These people are like shining dollars in my eyes."

Maria glanced at her, "What are you afraid of? Don't I still have you? Once you bring out those design drawings of yours, they will definitely be shocked. By then, they will be tying up the phone at my studio when the time comes!"
Mary said, "You flatter me."
Bringing Mary here today was a mistake for Maria because she also saw many familiar faces, all of whom had attended Victoria's birthday party.
They all knew her identity and naturally knew about her divorce from Matthew. How could they possibly flatter her?
Mary silently ate the fruit. The fruit here was really sweet.
Maria sat with her for a while but couldn't sit still. She said something to Mary and then got up to chat with some handsome guys.
Maria had very good looks and knew how to say things that men liked to hear. She quickly struck up conversations with several men.
Mary glanced at her and then looked away, continuing to eat the fruit.
"Mary."
After a while, a familiar voice sounded. Mary looked up and saw Sophia standing beside her, smiling at her.
Mary was a bit surprised, "Ms. Sarah, you're here too."
Sophia nodded, "Ms. Bailey's birthday, all families friendly with the Bailey family are here. What I didn't expect was to see you here."
Mary smiled, "I'm different. I came with my boss."
She pointed at Maria with her chin.
Sophia glanced over and then sat down beside her, "I thought you came with Mr. Montagu. I was wondering if you and Mr. Montagu reconciled, then Laura's plan would fall through."
Mary's eyelashes trembled, and she didn't respond.
Her relationship with Matthew was very complicated.
They were divorced but entangled again.
She was very tired but couldn't break free.
Sophia picked up a glass of champagne, took a sip, and said, "My parents found out about the DK Group's investment in Laura's company. They started to favor her again. Plus, she is now very much liked by Victoria. I feel like I'm about to be kicked out of the Sarah family."
Mary pursed her lips and said, "I'm sorry. If I hadn't dragged you into this, maybe she wouldn't be targeting you."
Sophia shook her head, "It's not your fault. She has always been targeting me. She just didn't have enough evidence before. And now... forget it, let's not talk about it."
She smiled mockingly, "If my parents plan to abandon me, then I'll leave Lindenwood City and go abroad."
Mary still felt a bit guilty.
But looking at Sophia's calm face, she was at a loss for words for a moment.
