Chapter 592 Once a Couple, Always a Couple
Mary struggled fiercely, but Matthew held her so tightly that she couldn't break free.
"Let go of me, Matthew, let go of me!"
Mary's voice was slightly hoarse, her eyes reddening, and her whole body trembling in Matthew's embrace.
Matthew held her even tighter. "No way, Mary. I will never let you go in this lifetime. I will hold you like this until you accept me again."
His hot breath sprayed on her neck, and Mary's vision blurred with tears.
The scent on him was familiar, something she had once relied on deeply. It was etched into her soul, impossible to forget easily.
So, being held by him like this, the fear in her heart was somewhat dispelled.
However, Mary hated herself for feeling this way.
He had been so awful, so why did she still depend on him so deeply?
Her emotions gradually calmed down. She closed her eyes and said in a hoarse voice, "I'm fine now. Let go of me."
Matthew slightly pulled away but didn't immediately release her. He studied her expression, and seeing that she was truly calm, he slowly let go.
"I don't feel comfortable leaving you alone at home. Either you come to my place to rest, or I go to yours," Matthew said in a deep voice.
Hearing this, Mary looked up at him, her eyes filled with anger. "Matthew, don't push it!"
Matthew raised an eyebrow. "How am I pushing it? I'm not trying to have sex with you. Besides, we're married; it's completely legal."
Mary frowned. "We're divorced."
Matthew's eyes darkened. "Once we're married, we always connected."
Mary was speechless.
How could Matthew be so shameless?
He didn't listen to anything she said and followed his own logic!
Mary didn't continue arguing with him. She turned and pressed the elevator button, saying coldly, "Don't come over, and I won't go to you. I'll be fine on my own."
Matthew said, "I already told you; I worry about you."
The elevator doors opened, and Mary walked in. Matthew held the door, staring at her intently. "You're not saying anything. Does that mean you want me to come over?"
Mary still didn't speak, but her resistance was evident.
Matthew knew he couldn't push her any further. He sighed and said, "I won't go into the master bedroom. I'll stay in the living room or the guest room. Mary, I really worry about you."
Hearing this, Mary looked up at him, her eyes filled with disbelief.
Matthew raised an eyebrow. "Did you forget what the doctor told me?"
As soon as he mentioned it, Mary's face turned even colder.
Such a private matter, and he had taken her to see a doctor and even got a solution.
Just thinking about it made Mary feel stifled.
The elevator alarm started ringing, annoying her. She said, "Matthew, I need my personal space."
Matthew nodded. "I know, so I won't go into the master bedroom."
Mary fell silent. She found it was useless, so she said with annoyance. "Hurry up and get in."
She didn't want to hear the elevator alarm anymore.
Matthew's thin lips curved into a faint smile. He let go of the door and walked in.
Back at the apartment, Mary went straight to the master bedroom. After locking the door, she went into the bathroom.
