Chapter 843 Who Is He?
"Why should I care about what Matthew has to do with you? You cowardly scumbag, hiding your face and even using a fake voice to talk to me. What do you want?"
Mary couldn't see anything. She was restrained, unable to even struggle, so she could only lash out with her words.
Even now, she had no idea who this person was or what their intentions were.
It was so frustrating!
After her outburst, she felt the grip on her wrist tighten, as if it was going to crush her bones.
Mary panted heavily, then let out a cold laugh and continued, "What's your purpose in capturing me? To control Matthew, to threaten him? You've already resorted to kidnapping, what else are you afraid to admit?"
She kept provoking him, trying to get some useful information.
"I won't use you to control him."
The electronic voice came from above her, devoid of any emotion.
Mary froze. Not using her to control Matthew?
Then what did he want?
"I'll ask you again, do you still care about Matthew?" The electronic voice repeated.
"I don't care!" Mary replied coldly.
The grip on her wrist loosened a bit, but her brow remained tightly furrowed.
A moment later, the person got off her and stood nearby, saying, "Eat your meal properly, or I will really hurt Nora. You say you don't care about her, but you dragged her into this. She's innocent. Can you bear to see her suffer?"
With that, footsteps echoed as he left the room.
Mary sat up, her face pale and grim.
He was right; she couldn't stand seeing Nora get involved.
But who was this person?
Not long after, Liliana brought in some food. This time, Mary didn't refuse and started eating.
Regardless of whether she feared implicating Nora, she needed to keep her strength up to be ready to escape at any moment.
A hint of bitterness flashed in her eyes. She was blind. Could she really escape?
Seeing Mary eat, Liliana finally relaxed, took out her phone, and sent a photo to her boss.
Mary had no appetite, so she put down her utensils after eating half a bowl of rice.
Liliana cleaned up and left the room. Mary sat on the couch, quietly contemplating her next move.
The situation was unclear. First, she needed to understand her current circumstances.
Obeying for now might make her captor lower his guard, giving her a chance to gather useful information.
Night fell.
There was still no news of Mary.
The atmosphere in the room was tense, and everyone looked worried.
Shirley was restless. Matthew's people hadn't found anything, so she needed outside help.
She went back to her room and called Robert.
"Shirley, what's wrong?"
Robert answered quickly.
Shirley anxiously said, "Robert, Mary is missing. Can you help find her?"
"What?" Robert was shocked. "When did this happen?"
Shirley explained everything to him.
Robert's tone grew serious. "Alright, I'll send people to look for her."
Shirley bit her lip and asked, "Won't this be difficult for you? What about the Bailey family...?"
Robert replied, "Don't worry, I'll find her."
