Chapter 488 Extremely Uneasy
Mary thought to herself, 'Is this guy a bottomless pit or something? How can he eat so much?'
The food that usually lasted her two days was devoured in one sitting!
Mary was fuming. Tomorrow, she was definitely going downstairs to change the password so he couldn't come up!
And then she would change the lock on this door!
After all, she had plenty of money now!
Mary stormed into the kitchen to see what kind of mess he had left, only to find the food still warm on the stove.
Her anger froze on her face.
She let out a cold laugh, then took the warm food out and continued eating.
She was really hungry.
The next day.
Mary first watched the locksmith change the lock, then changed the elevator password before heading to work.
Maria arrived super early today but looked completely exhausted.
Mary asked, confused, "What's up with you? Did you stay up all night?"
Maria yawned, "Yeah, I've been so busy these past two days that my hormones are all out of whack. I'm not even pretty anymore."
Mary chuckled, "Then go home and get some rest."
Maria shook her head, "Nah, I can rest here."
Mary fell silent.
She pulled out her chair and sat down, and a glass of milk appeared in front of her. She looked up, confused, to see Sean smiling shyly.
He said, "I got this milk with my breakfast, but I'm allergic to milk. If you don't mind, you can have it."
Mary paused and said, "Sure, thanks."
Sean's eyes lit up immediately, "You're welcome!"
Just as he turned to leave, Maria walked over, picked up the milk, and started drinking it. "I didn't have breakfast, and my stomach is starting to hurt. I'll take this."
It was just a carton of milk, so Mary didn't mind, "Okay."
Sean saw this and couldn't help but glance at Maria, only to find Maria looking back at him with a slight smile.
Sean felt something was off but couldn't pinpoint it, so he suppressed his doubts.
Mary had to visit the construction site today. After finishing her tasks, she got up and left the office.
Sean followed her, "Mary, are you going to the construction site? Can I come with you?"
"Sure." Mary nodded.
Sean said, "Wait a moment, I'll go get some documents."
Mary waited by the elevator, but after a while, Sean returned with an apologetic look, "Sorry, I can't go with you. Maria said she needs me to attend a meeting with her."
Mary was surprised, "So many meetings lately?"
Sean shrugged. "I don't know either."
Mary said, "Alright, you go ahead."
Sean added, "Take care of yourself."
Mary nodded, "Don't worry."
The elevator arrived, and she stepped in.
After exiting the subway station, she saw the construction site operating not far away, with tall cranes lifting materials.
Mary walked over.
The foreman, knowing she was coming, was already waiting at the entrance and handed her a hard hat before leading her to a nearby building.
The building was starting to take shape. Mary held the blueprints and discussed some details and precautions with the foreman.
The foreman noted everything down.
After giving instructions, Mary said, "I'll go take a look myself. You can go back to work."
The foreman smiled, "Alright, if you need anything, just let me know."
Mary nodded and walked forward.
But she didn't know if it was her imagination; as she passed a pile of rubble, she felt a sinister gaze on her, making her extremely uneasy!
