Chapter 85 Does Crying Help?

Robert looked at Mary and said helplessly, "Ms. Smith, haven't you realized the situation yet? Are you still able to smile?"

Mary replied, "So, would crying help?"

Robert's indifferent smile faded slightly.

He found Mary quite interesting.

Matthew, observing the interaction between the two, grew increasingly cold and menacing, an aura of chilling hostility surrounding him.

He turned to Laura and asked gently, "Do you need to go to the hospital?"

Laura shook her head, "No need. I'm used to the pain. But Ms. Smith has the video."

"It's fine." Matthew said, then immediately made a call, "Come in, take Ms. Griffin home."

In no time, the door to the private room opened, and Sam walked in, going to assist Laura.

Turning to Mary, Laura displayed a pleading expression, "Ms. Smith, it's my fault getting involved in your affairs. Please don't do anything that would harm Matthew. It hasn't been easy for him to come this far."

Sam glanced coldly at Mary, wondering what this woman was up to.

Mary saved the video and then said, "So, convince him to divorce me ASAP. I'll stay far away from you all, and I promise that you'll never see me again."

Laura was taken aback. Mary wasn't the one who didn't want a divorce, was she?

Was it Matthew who didn't want it?

Why wouldn't he divorce her?

Matthew had promised Laura he would divorce Mary as soon as possible!

Was he having second thoughts?

Laura struggled to control her emotions and left the private room with Sam's support.

Mary turned to Robert and smiled slightly, "Mr. Williams, you should go first. I need to talk to him."

Robert replied, "I can stay to protect you."

Mary teased him, "He won't put me on the spot. Don't worry, everything is fine."

Robert replied with concern, "If you need anything, call me. I'll be waiting in the lobby downstairs."

Mary instinctively declined, "No, I am fine."

Robert insisted, "It's settled."

After speaking, he glanced at Matthew and then left.

However, in that moment of turning, a hint of interest flashed in his eyes.

How had he not realized before that meddling in other couples' troubles could be so intriguing?

Mary let out a breath and turned to Matthew after the door was closed.

She reached out directly to him, "The money!"

Matthew stared at her intently, "Show me the video you took."

Mary immediately hid her phone behind her back. "You will delete it the second you have it. Matthew, I know what you're thinking."

"Is that so?" Matthew looked at her, "Then tell me, what am I thinking right now?"

Mary hesitated, "I don't care what you're thinking, I..."

Before she could finish, Matthew suddenly reached out, grabbed her wrist, pulled her towards him, and pinned her down on his thigh.

Mary was startled, "What are you doing?"

Matthew's slender and attractive hand firmly held her waist, imprisoning her on his thigh, rendering her unable to move.

"Aren't you curious?" Matthew asked in a deep voice.

He gazed at her intently, his voice slightly hoarse, carrying his unique charisma that made one feel dizzy just listening to him.

Mary suddenly calmed down. "I suddenly feel like I came in at the wrong time. I should have come in when you two were making love. It would have been more convincing to record video evidence then, wouldn't it?"
