Chapter 686 Want to Renew the Contract
"That's too much hassle."
Mary's calm demeanor was enough to drive Herman up the wall. He turned to Matthew, only to find him fixated on Mary.
"Matthew, you..."
"Is it the same account number?" Matthew cut in.
Herman was at a loss for words.
Just because you have money doesn't mean you should throw it around like this!
He was utterly speechless!
Mary nodded, "Yeah, that's right."
Matthew said, "I'll have Michael wire the money to you. For the next month, you're in charge of my meals."
Mary frowned. This seemed a bit rushed.
How about fifty million dollars?
Herman looked back and forth between them and finally decided to keep quiet.
If they were both on board, it was none of his business.
Matthew ate everything Mary prepared without any issues.
Herman watched with his arms crossed, intrigued.
He couldn't eat food made by others, but Mary's cooking was an exception.
Mary packed up the lunchbox and left.
Matthew's eyes followed her until she was out of sight, then he reluctantly looked away.
Herman sighed, "Matthew, you're totally smitten with her."
Matthew replied calmly, "What's wrong with that?"
Herman said, "Weren't you the one who said you didn't care about love?"
Matthew closed his eyes, "Who said that? I don't recall."
Herman was speechless.
Now Matthew was playing dumb.
His pride was long gone!
Over the next few weeks, Mary delivered meals on time every day, following the doctor's advice to provide nutritious food.
Matthew always finished everything.
Half a month later, when Mary arrived at noon, she saw him buried in documents.
Michael stood beside him, looking very serious.
Mary was surprised. Wasn't he removed from his CEO position?
What was he still busy with?
"Mrs. Montagu," Michael greeted her hesitantly.
Mary replied calmly, "Just call me Mary."
Michael said, "Alright, Mrs. Montagu."
Mary fell silent.
She placed the lunchbox aside and curiously glanced at the documents, noticing the Montagu Group's name. Matthew handed the documents to Michael.
"Just follow my instructions. Don't worry about anything else," Matthew ordered.
"Yes, Mr. Montagu."
Michael nodded and then left.
Mary asked, "You still have work?"
Matthew's gaze fell on her, "If I don't work, how can I renew the contract?"
Mary blinked, not understanding what he meant.
Matthew explained, "I want to renew for another month. Is it still twenty million dollars?"
Mary understood now and replied calmly, "I don't do renewals."
Matthew said, "Thirty million dollars?"
Mary remained silent.
"Fifty million dollars?" he continued.
It was hard to refuse.
But Mary still declined, "Your health has improved. Can we set a court date now?"
Matthew gazed at her, "Mary, can we not talk about such unpleasant things right now?"
Mary said, "But I'm happy."
She paused and added, "How about you just sign the divorce papers?"
She took out a divorce agreement from her bag.
Matthew's breath hitched, and he felt a dull pain in his chest, "Do you always keep it with you?"
