Chapter 113 Retaining Sarah in This Way
As all this craziness went down, the crowd let out a bunch of gasps, causing a whole lot of commotion.
"Yo, did that dude just hit someone?"
"Somebody call airport security, quick!"
"Help! There's a brawl!"
"Alex, you good?" Sarah was both pissed and worried seeing Alex get smacked. She wanted to check on him, but before she could get close, someone grabbed her wrist.
"Sarah, you ain't running away again. Come with me," Antonio said, trying to drag her away. Brady wasn't having any of it and rushed over to shove Antonio. "Get your hands off her, you jerk!"
The place turned into a madhouse, and airport security showed up fast, but they couldn't get through the crowd right away.
Then, the airport's announcement system chimed, and a big ol' message popped up on the screen: [Antonio, the Valencia Group President, repents, begs ex-wife for second chance, tearfully seeks forgiveness!]
The text stayed up for a good ten seconds, followed by a video of a cute little figure in a black suit, looking like Antonio but way more pitiful.
Unlike his usual cold and sharp vibe, this cute version of Antonio was on his knees, looking all sad with tears streaming down his face, begging for forgiveness. "My bad. Shouldn't have made you suffer. Sarah, don't go. I'll do anything if you forgive me. Please, stay."
As soon as the video played, everyone was glued to the screen, and the place went dead silent.
After a few seconds, the video cut off, and Antonio's last plea echoed through the airport, "Don't go."
The crowd slowly snapped out of it, and someone recognized the voice.
"Isn't that the dude from the video?"
"Yeah, the voice is the same; it's gotta be him!"
"Yep, it's him, the president of the Valencia Group."
"Could the rumors be true? Rich guy messed up, and now his wife's leaving, so he came to the airport to beg for forgiveness?"
"They should split up; don't give him another chance."
These comments totally trashed Antonio's dignity, and his face looked beyond pissed.
Antonio was radiating a scary chill, and his eyes were filled with a rage that was about to blow up.
In the video, it was definitely his voice, and some of the stuff he said was from the night Sarah got hurt.
But back then, he was apologizing for not trusting her, not for anything else!
Now, those words had been twisted and edited, changing the whole meaning.
And some of the stuff, he never even said!
Whoever made this video had some serious skills. Who could it be?
Alex, who had just gotten up from the ground, felt a wave of doubt when he saw the video.
Right then, he got a text from Brian: [Keep the cooperation going.]
Alex's face changed, and he instantly realized Brian was behind the video edit.
Meanwhile, Brian was chilling in a big chair with his feet up.
On the huge screen in front of him, a live feed of the Silvercrest Airport surveillance footage was playing.
Seeing this, a smug look spread across Brian's young face.
Brian picked up a cup next to him and took a sip of milk, his thick eyebrows raising in delight.
This time, it was all thanks to Harper for sending that wild video.
Back at the airport, Sarah was stunned for a few seconds before snapping back to reality, staring at Antonio in disbelief.
The video was nuts, but hearing those words, her heart kinda softened a bit.
Was he really trying to keep her in such a crazy way?
Antonio's face got even uglier, veins popping on his forehead, and he looked like he wanted to burn a hole through the big screen with his eyes.
After a moment, he tore his gaze away from the screen and glared at Sarah.
That night, it was just him and her in the room. Who else could've recorded this audio but her?
He never thought she'd leave with Alex; she really went all out!
So, was her explanation and accusation that night all an act?
Just to trick him into apologizing so she could edit the audio?
Harper, who knew everything, was shaking, ready to leave a confession letter and go into hiding for a bit.
She had good intentions; she didn't expect Brian to edit the video!
Right now, Antonio was convinced Sarah was behind this, feeling a mix of anger, disappointment, and betrayal.
He stepped forward and grabbed Sarah's arm. "Sarah, you played me!"
Sarah was instantly dumbfounded, and whatever little emotion she felt quickly vanished.
What the heck was going on?
She must've overthought it. Antonio was so arrogant and proud; how could he possibly try to plead with her?
After all, forcing his will on her was more his style.
Sarah snapped back, "Who played you? You're the one pestering me!"
She didn't know who made the video, but Antonio getting exposed like this was well-deserved.
If he hadn't forced her to stay and just signed the divorce papers, none of this would have happened.
Alex, seeing this, thought to himself, 'Antonio brought this on himself. Brian is truly smart and skillful. It's a pity he can't tell Sarah about this; she has no idea how brilliant Brian is! Right now, a direct confrontation is not advisable; I still have a task to complete.'
Alex stepped forward and said, "Not exactly the third level our president wanted, but Mr. Valencia has passed. Plus, you personally came to the airport to keep me, which shows great sincerity. And this widely broadcasted video, our president thinks you are very sincere!"
As he spoke, Alex kept his usual smile. "So, Mr. Valencia, we can sign the contract now."
As he spoke, the airport's various screens began to loop the apology video.
At this moment, the late-arriving James looked around, his expression dazed.
He had heard about the big event as soon as he arrived, and his mind was in chaos.
After the phone call was cut off in the morning, he guessed that Antonio would act impulsively, so he rushed to the airport.
James had originally been worried that Antonio would get angry, leading to further deterioration of the situation and it spiraling out of control, but he never expected the situation to take such a dramatic turn.
James didn't doubt it and thought the video was really made by Antonio. Seeing the cute version of Antonio kneeling and crying on the screens, a sense of admiration rose in his heart.
For the sake of his beloved Sarah, Antonio even gave up his pride. This was what a real man did!
