Chapter 560 How Could It Be Him?!
"Oh, I see..." Isabella looked somewhat disappointed, but she really had no interest in racing and didn't entertain the thought of following along. "Well, then I'll just go by myself."
"Alright." Benjamin knew she was always sensible. "You could have Daniel accompany you."
Isabella nodded reluctantly. "Okay."
…
The next day, Sarah and the kids all woke up early.
Harper even took the initiative to help Sarah pick out clothes, aiming to dress her up beautifully. The whole family was in high spirits, as if they were about to go on a picnic.
Driving the car with the three little treasures humming songs in the back, Sarah quickly arrived at the CL Racetrack.
"We're here; let's get out!" she announced as she unbuckled her seatbelt and got out of the car.
Opening the rear door, she lifted Harper out. "Ryan, Ethan, stick together and don't wander off."
"Okay, Mommy!"
They merrily held hands and walked inside, until they entered the indoor area of the CL Racetrack. That's when Ryan suddenly stopped, his sparkling eyes shimmering under the lights. "Mommy, you guys go ahead, I need to use the restroom."
Sarah looked back at him. "Alright, be careful."
"I will, Mommy."
As Ryan watched his family proceed inside, he spun around and raced back toward the entrance. The time to meet his dad was approaching fast!
Benjamin, unusually on his own today and considering it a relaxing day out, hadn't bothered to bring an assistant. He simply drove himself and parked the car. It wasn't long before he spotted the little figure by the entrance.
"Da— Good sir!"
At the sight of him, Ryan almost let the word 'Daddy' slip out, but he managed to change it in time, "You finally made it!"
Benjamin, with his long strides, reached him. "Have you been waiting long?"
"Not at all!"
Ryan shook his head energetically and led him inside, hardly containing his excitement. "The exhibition race is about to start. Let's hurry!"
"Okay."
Together they walked into the packed stands, and Ryan guided Benjamin to their specially prepared seats. "Sir, we sit here!"
Then he stole a quick glance at where Sarah and the others were seated.
The distance was safe enough; they were unlikely to be noticed.
Soon after, the exhibition race kicked off. The racers, all professionals, adorned in sleek racing suits and driving modified cars, looked remarkably cool. Each perfect overtake and drift drew blood-pumping screams from the crowd.
Benjamin felt his own adrenaline surge. As he watched the action below, an eager sensation took hold of him, and he turned to Ryan. "Could you get me a car? I'd like to give it a try."
Since it was just an exhibition, he figured taking a couple of laps wouldn't be an issue.
A sparkle lit up Ryan's eyes. "Of course, you can!"
He had just been wondering how to bring it up, and here his dad was suggesting it himself.
Ryan swiftly located a staff member and promptly acquired a brand-new racing suit, complemented by a strikingly red race car.
Benjamin's eyes flickered with recognition the moment he saw the race car, adrenaline coursing through his veins as a muscle memory stirred awake.
He wondered, 'Have I driven this beast overseas in the past?'
"Sir! You have to get in now!"
Ryan could hardly wait to see his dad's impressive driving skills in action!
This particular car wasn't just any ordinary vehicle. Antonio had meticulously modified and fine-tuned both its performance and appearance to perfection. Now, at last, it roared to life under his command once again.
With a subtle curve of his lips, Benjamin snapped on his helmet with practiced ease. That simple action transformed him; gone was the formidable CEO, replaced by a confident, professional driver whose every move radiated a wild, untamed allure.
Ryan was in awe—his dad was the epitome of cool!
Meanwhile, Sarah was oblivious to the unfolding spectacle, engrossed in the event with Ethan and Harper by her side. During a brief interlude, she cast a glance over her shoulder, a flicker of concern for Ryan crossing her mind.
"Why don't you keep watching... I'll go check on Ryan."
"Mommy!" The two kids exchanged knowing looks and quickly tugged at her arm. "Ryan probably found another spot to sit. Besides, this is our turf; how could he possibly get lost?"
Sarah chewed on the thought and decided they were probably right.
Seeing her in contemplation, Ethan and Harper, worried she might unravel their secret, excitedly pulled her closer. "Mommy, look! The final race is starting!"
As Ethan finished, the cars below shot off like arrows released from their bows, disappearing into the distance.
Sarah hesitated, then her eyes locked onto one car in particular. 'I-It looks just like Antonio's old racer, even down to the number plate.'
Her gaze never wavered, captivated by each perfect, thrilling overtake. Whenever it seemed like another car might pass, the red racer would dart ahead like a cheetah, widening the gap with effortless grace.
The exhilaration of the race had the crowd roaring, a symphony of cheers and excitement.
Sarah's heartbeat quickened as she found herself caught in a whirlwind of emotion, her gaze fixed on the blazing red speedster.
Eventually, the red car broke through to the finish line after heart-stopping maneuvers!
A perfect drift sealed the deal.
"Oh! He won! Amazing!"
Cheers erupted around her, igniting the atmosphere.
Even Sarah rose to her feet, caught in the fervor of the moment.
Soon after, the drivers began to emerge from their vehicles.
Curiosity piqued, Sarah craned her neck to see—what did the driver of that car look like?
The drivers removed their helmets, greeting the crowd with waves and smiles.
But as Sarah watched, her own smile faded to disbelief. Standing there, beside the red racer, was none other... than him.
