Chapter 336 He Guarded Her All Night...

Antonio pressed Asa down, hitting him with punches one after another; each punch was so forceful that it penetrated deep into his bones.

Hearing the commotion from outside, the police rushed in and quickly pulled Antonio away.

In just a few short minutes, Asa nearly lost his life.

However, Asa didn't show any restraint and continued to provocatively look at Antonio, laughing, "Antonio, I slept with your wife long ago, and you will forever live as a cuckold. That will never change."

Antonio's eyes blazed a bright, bloodshot red, his chest heaving violently. He struggled to release the grip of his hatred.

However, the police officers remained vigilant, forcefully escorting him away.

Taking a series of deep breaths, Antonio fought to suppress his urge to kill. He had chosen to believe Sarah, so he wouldn't let Asa's deceitful words sway him any longer!

Sarah was waiting for him at the hotel, and he didn't want to delay any longer here.

Besides, Asa would soon be a dead man.

Adjusting his attire, Antonio turned to the police, asking, "He will receive a heavy punishment, right?"

The police officer hesitated for a moment and nodded. "We will do our best to ensure the criminal receives the punishment he deserves."

Antonio's gaze grew deeper, and he walked away.

Inside the cell…

Asa gazed into the dim light amidst the darkness, a trace of mockery and disdain evident on his features.

Much like tonight, nothing had happened back then, either. As for the exact location of Sarah's moles, he remained clueless. It was only through someone's assistance that he acquired that information...

A laugh erupted from Asa, his detestable face concealed in the darkness.
'Oh, Antonio, do you think that catching me means everything is over? You will never find that person. You will spend your whole life being kept in the dark, enduring the torment in your heart!'

...

Antonio sped down the seemingly endless road in his car after leaving the police station.

Despite the wind rushing past his ears, the distress in his heart remained palpable. He reassured himself mentally to trust Sarah, to believe her assurances that the incriminating photo was fake, that nothing illicit had occurred between them.

Yet, Asa's ominous words continued to reverberate in his mind. He knew what Sarah's most intimate secret was...

'Sarah… Asa… There is a major inconsistency in this whole situation.'

The photo was indeed not manipulated; Antonio had it authenticated.

'But Asa knows about the moles on Sarah's body. Could it be that he had only taken Sarah to the hotel back then and taken that photo. But for some other reason, nothing happened with her.

'Then why?

'Unless... someone else interfered with this matter…And Sarah has no clue, no recollection whatsoever…

'Who could it be?!'

The more he thought, the more chaotic his mind became.

Antonio abruptly stopped the car by the roadside, forcing himself to calm down.

No matter what, he had to find out the truth.

Antonio thought, 'That matter is all in the past, and now Sarah is by your side. She has returned. You have two lovely children now, accompanying each other day and night. Those unpleasant things are all behind you.'

Antonio leaned on the steering wheel and took a deep breath.

Asa had been caught, and from now on, no one woud disturb their lives anymore. There wouldn't be any more unexpected events.

Antonio grabbed his hair until the redness in his eyes completely disappeared, then he looked up again.

Antonio started the car, went to a nearby shop to buy some nutritional meals and snacks, and drove back to the hotel. However, the door was tightly locked.

"Sarah, it's me." Antonio knocked on the door, knowing that Sarah was awake. But there was no response from inside the room.

"Sarah, could you please open the door first? I brought you some food. You're still sick," Antonio pleaded, making sure his voice didn't tremble.

"Leave! I don't want to see you now." Sarah finally responded, but her words felt like knives piercing Antonio's heart.

Sarah no longer wished to see Antonio. Merely the thought of him, the man who accused her solely based on a mysterious photo, caused her heart to ache as if it were being torn apart.

At this point, Antonio still held a significant place in her heart, but she truly didn't know how to face him.

Listening to Sarah's dejected voice and firm tone, Antonio refrained from knocking on the door again. Instead, he remained in place, leaning against the wall before slowly sinking to the floor. His hand instinctively sought his pocket for a cigarette, a habit he hoped would provide solace, but he hesitated, recalling Sarah's disapproval of smoking.

Hence, his pockets were already empty as he had removed the cigarette pack before he left. Antonio sighed silently. Leave? How could he bear to leave at a time like this?

Antonio rubbed his eyes and eventually, settled against the wall for the entire night. Inside the room, Sarah also struggled to sleep.

As the dawn broke, Sarah, who had barely slept, sat up as the sunlight streamed in. She coughed twice and slowly opened the door.

Seeing Antonio sitting on the floor, Sarah froze.

After staying up all night, Antonio had a layer of stubble on his chin, and his neatly combed hair was now scattered around his ears. His once crisp suit was full of wrinkles, and his eyes were marked with dark circles.

'Did Antonio... stay up all night guarding me?'
