Chapter 615 Just Because He Kissed Her
Todd and the bodyguards were utterly confused by his sudden act.
Mr. Bob tried to hint to them that what he was doing was part of an act, mouthing, "This is just a show!"
Sarah glanced out the window and saw Bob being blocked by several cars at the door. She thought he was in trouble, so she came out to check on him.
As soon as she approached, she saw his pitiful look.
Sarah asked cautiously, "What's going on? Should I call the police?"
Can't call the police!
Bob secretly hinted at Todd, 'Let's go quickly!'
Then, facing Sarah again, he put on a desolate look, awkwardly smiled, and said, "I'm sorry, Ms. Miller. This is my private matter. This must look ridiculous to you."
Then, with a half-threatening and half-forceful look at the butler, Todd, hinted, 'You should leave now!'
Todd was a bit puzzled, but seeing Mr. Bob's expression, he roughly understood that the "more important matter" he mentioned was this girl!
He felt a mix of emotions and thought it was best not to ruin Mr. Bob's chance, so he and the bodyguards disappeared immediately.
Sarah breathed a sigh of relief and asked Bob, "Who are they?"
Bob sighed heavily, looking embarrassed, and explained, "Ms. Miller, you may not know, but I owe a lot of money."
His acting was so natural and skilled as he added, "I've already mortgaged the house to them, but they still won't let me go. I don't even have money for food now, let alone paying them back!"
His weary look seemed so real. At least Sarah believed him; she never expected Bob to have such an experience.
When she first met him, Sarah thought he was just an ordinary college student. After spending so much time together, she had a good understanding of his character.
She believed he wouldn't do anything wrong; perhaps he was truly facing financial difficulties. In her mind, besides being his superior, she already considered Bob as her friend.
Sarah said, "If you need help, you can tell me."
Bob's eyes flickered. Although all of this was made up, at this moment, Sarah's offer of help touched him deeply!
He thought of something, his expression downcast, but his eyes subtly observed Sarah's reaction. "Ms. Miller, if it's convenient for you, could you rent me a room?" he queried, testing his luck.
With a bitter smile, he added, "I know this request might seem awkward, but I have no other choice now. I'm about to be homeless."
"Sure." Sarah didn't mind at all and casually agreed, "There's an empty building in the villa. If you don't mind, you can move in."
Her villa had more than one building; besides the main house, there was a separate small house nearby. Even if Bob moved in, it wouldn't affect her life.
Seeing Bob's pitiful look, she agreed to help a little. She rented the house to him, and they would be neighbors in the future, making the house livelier.
"Great! Thank you, Ms. Miller!" Bob was genuinely happy from the bottom of his heart, his smile shining brightly!
Now that he could move into the same courtyard as Sarah, it was like getting closer to her!
As long as he behaved well, Sarah would eventually see his sincerity!
Bob was so excited that he almost danced, but in front of Sarah, he restrained himself. He said with great enthusiasm, "Thank you, Ms. Miller! I'm off to the company now. You should head back; it's windy outside."
Sarah smiled and agreed, "Okay."
She watched Bob get into the car and then turned back to the villa. Since the Pine Mountain project had been fully handed over, Sarah decided to take a break and relax at home to compose herself. So, she didn't go to the company that day.
She spent the day with the children, making it quite fulfilling.
She didn't expect Bob to move in so quickly. That evening, he directly carried a few large boxes and settled into the adjacent attic.
After settling in, the first thing he did was to find Sarah.
Bob asked, "Ms. Miller, are you home?"
Sarah, dressed in casual home clothes, opened the door. She saw Bob under the courtyard lights, looking like a pure and youthful sunshine boy.
She smiled, and invited him warmly, "Just come in if you have something to say. From now on, we're neighbors."
Kevin wasn't feeling well and didn't come downstairs much; most of the time, he rested upstairs with a dedicated caregiver.
At this moment, there were only three children in the living room.
It had been a while since they had seen a stranger at home. When they saw Bob visiting, they all looked up curiously.
Feeling a bit embarrassed being stared at by so many eyes all of a sudden, Bob scratched his head before walking into the living room, and shyly said, "I moved in a hurry and didn't bring any gifts. These are some small things I made myself for the children as a token of our first meeting."
The children's eyes lit up at the mention of gifts, looking at their mother.
Sarah initially wanted to decline, but upon hearing that he made them himself, she didn't think much of it, and suggested, "Thank you, then. You don't need to be so polite in the future. If you need anything, just tell the household staff."
Bob was even happier, and replied, "Great!"
He quickly took out the gifts from the bag.
He said, "This one is more suitable for Harper, this one is for Ethan, and this one is for Ryan."
It was clear he had put thought into the gifts, selecting similar types but tailored to each child's situation. He even knew Brian wasn't there and yet he still brought an extra gift for him.
"Awesome!" Harper exclaimed.
"Yeah, I love it!" Ethan remarked.
"Bob, can you play with us?" Ryan requested.
The three children were thrilled, pulling Bob to join them in exploring the gifts.
Seeing Sarah not objecting, he silently congratulated himself. It seemed he had chosen the gifts very well!
Soon, Bob became friends with the children.
Sarah sat on the side, watching them as they happily played together, her mood gradually improved, she smiled and occasionally interjected.
Perhaps because Bob was young and lively, he knew exactly how to interact with the children, making them like him.
In the end, he even cooked for the children himself before reluctantly bidding them farewell and returning to his small attic.
Meanwhile, Benjamin returned from the Pine Mountain inspection feeling very uneasy.
Even at the company, where he used to feel calm and settled, he found it hard to focus on work. His restlessness felt like someone holding a missing part of his heart in their hands.
Naturally, his thoughts revolved around Sarah.
Why did Sarah come and go as she pleased?
The Pine Mountain project wasn't even finished with the inspection, yet she left without a word to him. These past few days, she seemed to have disappeared, not sending any messages.
What's the meaning of this?
Just because that night he kissed her in a moment of confusion and infatuation!
