Chapter 367 Antonio's Regret

The tender scene deeply pierced Sarah's eyes. In that instant, she suddenly felt a profound irony. She had rushed over in such haste, only to become a joke. There was already someone by Antonio's side, taking care of him perfectly well in all aspects of life.

So why did she come here? To witness their affection? How ridiculous! They didn't need her at all, yet she, driven by her own sense of importance, had arrived and even contemplated apologizing to him..

It was all just wishful thinking on her part. Perhaps she hadn't even crossed his mind when he was hurt.

Sarah bit her lip and angrily turned away.

"Excuse me, Miss. I've noticed you've been waiting here. Which patient are you here to see?" Sarah faced the nurse squarely, her mood already sour, and she hesitated to respond.

However, the nurse was persistent. "Miss, this is the VIP ward. I have to know which patient you're here to see. Unauthorized individuals are not allowed in. Have you registered?"

"Can I go the other way?" Sarah snapped at the nurse and stormed away from the hospital.

Inside the ward, Antonio suddenly froze. He recognized that voice—it was Sarah! He couldn't be sure if it were just his imagination. Regardless of whether it was real or not, Antonio had to go out and take a look.

"Antonio, you're still injured. You can't move around like this," Serene stopped him, looking somewhat helpless. "Tell me what you want, and I'll get it for you. Be careful not to touch your wound."

Antonio frowned. "Ms. Jerrett, take care of yourself. You're also injured, aren't you?"

Antonio's impatience was evident in his words, and he pushed Serene away in annoyance. "I only had a concussion; I'm not stupid. There is no need for you to feed me, prop me up, and attend to my every need. Just take care of yourself. Thank you."

When Antonio woke up earlier and saw Serene beside him, he didn't feel as impatient. He knew his injuries weren't severe; he just felt a bit dizzy after getting hurt last night. Since he was already awake, he figured there shouldn't be any major issues.

However, Serene insisted on staying by his bedside, bringing him water when he was thirsty and helping him turn over. Although he tried to ask her to leave so he could eat, Serene instead ordered a meal and insisted on feeding him herself!

Antonio had politely refused many times, but Serene wouldn't leave. And now, hearing Sarah's voice, he couldn't help but feel impatient.

'Why is Serene bothering me here?'

Serene pursed her lips and set down her utensils. "Antonio, I'm just worried about you. After all, it was so scary last night. I don't know what I would have done without you by my side. I didn't mean to trouble you."

As Serene spoke, tears welled up in her eyes and fell down her cheeks. "If I have caused you any trouble, then I apologize. I'm truly sorry."

She backed away and bumped into the bedside cabinet, causing her leg wound to burst open.

"Ah!" Serene let out a painful scream. "It hurts so much!"

Antonio frowned. He didn't feel much guilt or consider that his actions may hurt Serene's heart.

In that instant, all he felt was inconvenience upon seeing Serene getting hurt.

"Nurse, come and take a look at the wound."

The nurse, who had just intercepted Sarah, happened to be at the door and entered the room.

Antonio sat by the bed, gazing at Serene's wound with a furrowed brow.

Regret grew within his heart...
