Chapter 686 My Love for You Is Real

"How's it going?" Sarah asked.

Sofia wasn't sure what her current status with Alex was. It seemed like they had reconciled, but it also felt like the issues weren't fully resolved. In short, it was very delicate.

"Should we say we've made up?" Sofia replied.

"What do you mean by 'should'?" Sarah's mouth twitched. "Did you two have a talk that day?"

"We did." seriously recalled that day. "We talked and ended up sleeping together, and it was quite pleasant."

Sarah was left speechless.

She realized she had overthought it.

For people like Sofia and Alex, maybe they just needed a special way to resolve issues. Making up could happen in an instant.

Sofia probably sensed her speechlessness and sighed. "But I feel like..."

Before Sofia could finish, the doorbell rang. She walked over while saying, "Hold on. Let me check if it's the takeout."

Sarah noticed the drop in her tone and felt something was off, so she didn't hang up.

Sofia didn't expect it wasn't her takeout at the door.

It was Alex.

After that night, she had fled early the next morning. Since then, Alex had occasionally sent messages, but she ignored them all.

She had always been the one chasing after him, and she was genuinely tired of that.

But at this moment, with Alex standing in front of her, holding grocery bags like he was at his own place, she felt nervous.

"Why are you here so late?" she asked.

Alex lifted the takeout in his other hand slightly.

"Did you forget to change the address again? The takeout was delivered to my place." Alex walked past her, remaining calm. "I still don't think it's good for you to always eat takeout, so I bought some groceries for you."

Alex entered the house as if it was his own.

Sofia didn't plan to stop him. She took a deep breath, closed the door, and walked back a few steps before remembering Sarah was still on the phone. When she picked it up, Sarah had already hung up. She didn't mind Sarah hanging up.

'Is Alex planning to stay the night?' she thought.

"Sofia." His deep voice came from the kitchen, interrupting her thoughts.

She blurted out, "What's up?"

Then she regretted it.

'What am I doing? Isn't I supposed to ignore him?' she thought.

Of course, this was a promise Sofia made to herself, so even when she saw Alex skillfully find the flour in the cabinet, she just raised an eyebrow.

Seeing her pause, Alex raised his hand helplessly.

"My hands are covered in flour. Can you help me tie the apron?"

Sofia glanced at the flour on his hands and reluctantly walked over. "What are you planning to make?"

"I'm going to cook something for you to keep in the fridge. If you get hungry at night, you can eat it instead of always eating takeout. It's not healthy."

She didn't care about health, actually.

But seeing Alex so serious, Sofia swallowed her words, walked over, and picked up the apron. Alex cooperatively bent down.

Her hands trembled a bit, and she was somewhat clumsy.

"Are you done?" he asked.

"Yes, done."

Sofia didn't know what was wrong with her. She inexplicably felt her face heat up. As soon as Alex stood up, she quickly moved behind him but couldn't grab the strings.

She bit her lip and reached out from both sides, fumbling around but not finding the strings.

Instead, she accidentally touched Alex's waist and abdomen several times.

"Have you touched enough?" he asked.

Alex had stopped moving at some point, looking down at her fumbling hands with increasingly intense gaze.

Sofia didn't notice his change. She quickly glanced down and finally saw the strings dangling on both sides. Just as she was about to grab them, Alex suddenly turned around, making it look like she was hugging him.

Realizing what Alex had said, Sofia was both embarrassed and angry. "Didn't you ask me to tie the apron? I'm not touching you!"

She seriously suspected Alex did it on purpose!

He just wanted to see her embarrassed!

Thinking of this, Sofia angrily pushed him away and turned to leave.

Alex quickly grabbed her and pulled her towards him.

Sofia instinctively fell into his arms. "What are you doing?" she asked.

Alex's voice was somewhat helpless, low, and gentle, as if it were right by her ear. "I wanted you to touch me, okay? Don't be mad."

Honestly, Sofia rarely saw Alex being so soft with her.

In the past, it was always her who gave in first.

"I'm not mad," she denied.

Sofia struggled out of his arms a bit, her eyes darting around. "Maybe you shouldn't cook. It's already late. You should go home and rest."

Alex still held her hand, gently rubbing it. "Sofia, are you still mad about that day?"

He could actually feel it.

Since that day, Sofia hadn't really talked to him. Even when she answered his calls, she wasn't as enthusiastic as before.

Alex felt this change, and it made him anxious and scared as if he was watching the person he loved most drift away.

When Sofia heard him bring up the topic again, her eyes unconsciously lowered.

She would be lying if she said she wasn't mad.

But Alex was just that kind of person.

Since she couldn't leave him yet, she might as well consider him a sexual partner. At least they were compatible in bed. As for other things, they could be dealt with later.

She said, "Maybe you're right. Even if I didn't do anything with another man that day, I might just be a casual person. Otherwise, I wouldn't have done anything with you."

Their relationship started because she had planned it that way.

"But Alex," she added, hesitating.

Sofia suddenly looked up, her expression more serious than ever as she continued, "You can curse me in every way, but don't question my feelings for you. I truly love you."

Alex could see his reflection clearly in her pupils and a strange sense of determination, as if Sofia had decided to give up something.

He felt a tightness in his chest and almost desperately said, "I know it's true. I'm sorry, Sofia. I said those things because I care too much about you."

Especially that day, she was so beautiful.

Standing there, she seemed to glow.

"I can't stand seeing you with another man. I was insanely jealous."
