Chapter 75 Let Him Go, I'll Go Home with You
The next morning, Sarah wrapped up Harper's discharge papers.
Harper sat alone in the hospital room, her chubby little face looking all kinds of bummed out. Antonio hadn't shown up even once during her stay.
Sarah pushed the door open and saw Harper's sad little face.
She let out a barely-there sigh, her heart aching, but she still managed to smile and coax, "Hey, to celebrate your release, how about Mom takes you out for a treat? What are you craving?"
But even the thought of tasty food didn't perk Harper up.
She mumbled, "Not today, maybe another time."
Sarah could hear the disappointment and hurt in Harper's voice, which made her feel even worse. She gently touched Harper's chubby cheek. "Alright, how about we go see Brady first, okay? You've been wanting to see him, right?"
"Okay," Harper replied weakly.
Sure, she wanted to see Brady, but she also really wanted to see Antonio.
Sarah led Harper to the parking lot. Just as they were about to get in the car, a tall figure showed up. Both of them looked over.
It was Antonio!
The gloom on Harper's face vanished, and her eyes lit up. She almost shouted "Daddy," but held back and said, "You're here!"
She knew Antonio wouldn't ignore her!
He must've been busy getting back at whoever hurt her, so he didn't have time to visit. She'd let it slide this time!
Sarah, though, had a bad feeling.
She instinctively tightened her grip on Harper's hand and looked at Antonio with a wary gaze.
She had already messed with the paternity test results, so why was he here?
Antonio's face was calm, giving nothing away.
He slightly parted his thin lips and said coolly, "I'm here to take you both home."
Harper was so happy she could've floated, but Sarah was speechless.
Antonio ignored the excited Harper and just stared at Sarah, his gaze intense.
Sarah met his gaze, her eyes and tone full of determination. "I'm not going back with you. I want a divorce."
She had made herself clear, why was he still being so annoying?
Antonio let out a cold snort, a sly smile playing on his lips. "That's not up to you."
"What do you mean!" Sarah was furious. The next second, she saw James coming over, dragging someone along.
It was Michael!
James, struggling with his steps, dragged Michael over and accused Sarah, "This guy kidnapped me last night and roughed me up. Plus, he had an accomplice, a kid. Got him, but the kid slipped away!"
Sarah was floored.
The kid James mentioned could only be Ethan.
Was Ethan okay? The situation must've been dangerous.
Michael, though, gave Sarah an apologetic look, like he had already made up his mind. "I'm fine, don't worry about me!"
He knew he messed up and was ready to face the music, but he didn't want to be used to threaten Sarah!
Antonio heard this and sneered at Sarah. "Is that what you think?"
Seeing Sarah clench her lips and stay silent, Antonio turned to James and said, "Then send him to prison."
Harper's face, which hadn't fully recovered, turned even paler.
She quickly ran over and grabbed Antonio's big hand. "No! Let him go, don't send him to prison!"
She actually liked Michael a lot, and she could guess this was probably Ethan's idea.
If Michael went to prison because of this, Ethan would definitely feel super guilty!
Antonio showed no sign of budging. His sharp gaze was locked on Sarah.
Sarah met his gaze, her eyes blazing with anger.
He was such a jerk!
All he knew was how to threaten her!
Antonio ignored Sarah's furious look.
The smile on his lips deepened, and he asked in a low voice, "So, what's your choice?"
He knew her too well. She would never let Michael go to prison.
Plus, Michael had claimed to be Harper's brother and said he had a crush on Sarah.
So, they must have a deep connection. Sarah wouldn't just let Michael get into trouble.
Sarah was fuming, but under the current circumstances, she had to give in.
She closed her eyes and reluctantly said, "Release Michael immediately, and I'll go home with you."
She didn't get why Antonio was doing this.
Why wouldn't he agree to the divorce?
Did he still doubt Harper's identity?
Antonio smiled with satisfaction, took the luggage from Sarah's hand, and said, "What are you waiting for? Let's go."
Sarah had no choice but to get into Antonio's car with Harper. James let go of Michael's collar, giving him a warning look before leaving.
The black luxury car sped away, leaving Michael standing alone in the parking lot, his face full of anger and sorrow, shouting at the departing car, "I will definitely save you both."
