Chapter 338 This Man is Handsome
Sarah glared at Antonio with a sense of distance and stubbornness in her eyes.
As Antonio looked into her eyes, he was filled with immense sorrow.
Asa's words echoed once again in Antonio's ears, causing his eyes to redden and his emotions to shift.
"Sarah, why are you always pushing me away? I've said that I no longer want to pursue what happened in the past. Why do you insist on bringing it up again and again? Whether you admit it or not, I won't leave you. Isn't that enough?"
Listening to Antonio's roar, Sarah became even more shocked. After saying so much, Antonio still didn't completely believe her, did he?
"Antonio, you bastard!"
Sarah slapped Antonio hard and ran out, turning away.
Antonio originally wanted to catch up, but for some reason, his feet felt like they were filled with lead—he was unable to move!
Sarah ran out of the hotel and bumped into Sofia, who had rushed back.
"Sarah, what's wrong with you?" Sofia asked, bringing Sarah back to her room. Her heart ached.
Sarah sat on the sofa, tears streaming from her eyes uncontrollably.
Sofia hugged Sarah with sympathy. "I called you all night, but you didn't answer. I was so worried about you.
"Stop crying for now and tell me what happened. Did you talk properly with Antonio last night? How could he make you cry like this?"
Sarah wiped her tears and forced a smile, but that smile looked worse than crying.
"Sorry, Sofia, for worrying you."
"Why are you being so polite to me?" Sofia sighed, holding Sarah's shoulder. "Did Antonio bully you? I'll go settle the score with him."
"Don't go, Sofia." Sarah held Sofia back, shaking her head while crying. "I don't want to see him... Let's go back."
She didn't want to come back to this city anymore.
This city was where she and Antonio had first met, where they had made promises of a lifetime.
But why? Why couldn't they continue now?
Seeing Sarah in this broken-hearted state, Sofia didn't say much. She naturally understood her best friend; that scumbag Asa was someone she would never look at.
"Alright, let's go home." Sofia wiped away the tears on Sarah's face and booked two plane tickets directly.
Meanwhile, Antonio received a call from his assistant.
"Sir, Ms. Miller just booked return tickets."
"I know." Antonio hung up and sat on the bed, feeling completely drained.
He couldn't undrestand how things had reached this juncture, why they had unfolded in such a manner. Why did the things he desperately guarded always get broken so easily?
Antonio's mind was in chaos.
The situation had turned into a complete mess. He smashed everything he could see in the room, but it did not bring him any peace of mind.
…
Sarah took the next flight and returned to the city with Sofia.
"Sofia, come with me to pack our things and pick up the children."
Sarah couldn't stay in Antonio's villa anymore. She didn't know how to face the life ahead, let alone how to face Antonio.
Sarah didn't want things to turn out like this, and she dreaded the thought of Ethan and Harper losing their cozy home. However, she saw no alternative.
Antonio didn't believe in herself, nor did he believe in her sincerity.
"Okay, let's go back and pack our things now." Sofia didn't hesitate and took a taxi straight back to the villa with Sarah.
Sarah didn't say a word along the way, but thankfully, she managed to stop her tears from flowing and didn't cry any further. After all, she didn't want Ethan and Harper to worry.
"Hey, why is there a car parked at the entrance of your house? Could it be Antonio? Has he already come back?"
Sofia got out of the car and looked at the car parked in front of the villa.
Sarah looked over, and it was Alex's car.
"He didn't come back. That's a friend's car." Sarah didn't expect Alex to come.
Alex was always perceptive. When he saw her moving out, he would immediately know that she had another argument with Antonio, even if he didn’t ask what had happened.
But Sarah didn't want him to know yet because he would often see Brian once he went back abroad. Once he found out what had happened to her from Alex, Brian would worry about her again.
Sarah sighed. At this point, she could only adapt to the situation.
Just as she opened the door, Alex suddenly rushed out from inside and accidentally bumped into Sofia.
"I'm sorry. Are you okay?" Alex quickly grabbed Sofia and, due to the inertia, ended up holding her in his arms.
Sofia was startled, like a startled bunny, staring blankly at the man in front of her.
The sunlight shone through the tree shade, casting golden spots on Alex's face, making him inexplicably radiant.
“He’s so handsome...” Sofia mumbled to herself.
